I stopped by on a rainy Monday at 2, near closing time and the cafe was busy and happy. I had the Thai peanut bowl and couldn’t have asked for more. Warm and crisp. Just the right amount of zing and spice in the sauce. I will return!!
Located in the historic downtown district, so it's not inundated with tourists like the places right on Hwy 61. Great atmosphere, with a low key vibe. The food is exceptional - well made with locally sourced ingredients. Substantial salads and sandwiches are the majority of offerings. Amazing cookies and gelato round out the menu. I will be back the next time I'm in the area.
Delightful lunch there this noon: curried chicken wild rice soup, delicious whole grain bread, wild rice burger sandwich, rainbow slaw, lemon-hibiscus iced tea, lovely mild but strong iced cold brew. Everything was super fresh, nicely seasoned, presented beautifully! in a relaxed order-at-counter bistro ambience with nautical and mermaid decor. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
Madeira Bistro, located in Two Harbors, is a convenient and flavorful lunch spot, perfect for those on the go. Open exclusively for lunch from 11-3, their menu offers a variety of tasty options.
I tried the Northern Dillight sandwich, and my husband had the Knife River Roast. Both were delicious and served with crispy kettle fries and a tangy dill pickle on the side. We enjoyed our food as takeout, and the process was incredibly smooth. I called ahead, and our order was ready in just 15-20 minutes.
One thing to note is that their website can be a bit glitchy. Clicking on an item on the menu takes you to the top of the webpage, which can be a little frustrating.
Even though we didn't dine in, the quality of the food and the efficiency of the service left a positive impression. If you find yourself in Two Harbors and are looking for a quick and satisfying lunch, I would recommend giving Madeira Bistro a try. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality is evident, and we'll likely return if we're in the area again.
Great food, cute space and friendly service! It’s refreshing to find healthy (and tasty) choices, in a small town. We enjoyed dinner so much we went back for breakfast. Highly recommend!
