Amazing fried chicken!! Wouldn't normally order that, but apparently it's their specialty. The biscuits were really good too! I think they are going for a sort of modern homestyle flavor with a farm to table feel. I'm very interested to go back and try other menu items.
Very cool atmosphere. The smoked trout appetizer was amazing! We had a beef brisket sandwich and a smoked pulled pork sandwich. Both were tender and moist but seemed to be a little bland. Maybe the trout had an influence on the taste. Will definitely visit again to try another couple of dishes.
The fried chicken is incredible. That is all you need to know. Make sure you get there early enough to get a good seat. There is a porch for outdoor eating, if the weather is good. The best: Beef brisket (so tender and flavorful) sandwich, Beans (sweet but yummy), Turkey BLT, Deviled Eggs, tap beers & sitting out on the porch in a June day!
The pickle juice is infused with maple syrup, cinnamon and brown sugar. The fried chicken is incredible. That is all you need to know. Make sure you get there early enough to get a good seat. but this is the second best fried chicken I've ever had (right behind my deceased mother-in-law's home fried, and Willie Mae's Scotch House in New Orleans.
Excellent batter on the chicken, honey butter sauce very good too. Pulled pork was not impressive, on the dry side, sauce spicy but somehow bland. Pot pie had nice crust but we did not care for some lemony type spice inside. Service freindly. Supposed to be excellent place for drinks. Bar empty on a Wednesday night
