Rosati's Pizza

This was my first time having a deep dish pizza and I was pretty disappointed. We ordered our pizza for take out. The mozzarella cheese was melted at one point but had coagulated into a firm clump. The flavor of the sauce was pretty good, but the status of the cheese was a major bummer. It'll be awhile before going back.

It took 3 tries for us to successfully get a Chicago Style deep dish from Rosati's. like all new restaurants in Rochester, everybody in town tries it at the same time so it was just packed with orders.

Anyway, the pizza was worth the wait. It wasn't the best Chicago style pizza I've ever had as it could use more red pepper and oregano, but it is good and a decent value as well. I do think the pizza suffers from being in a cardboard box as the steam generated causes the crust to soften instead of being slightly crunchy. That's why it's 4 instead of 5 stars.

I want to make a shout out to ether the manager, or owner who was there when I was picking up my pizza. An employee came in who had apparently been handing out fliers while not on the clock. The manager/owner asked the employee if they were on the clock, and when they found out they employee was working off the clock they insisted that the timesheet be corrected, even though the employee was insisting that it was fine.

In today's world it is rare to see management who takes care of employees instead of taking advantage of employees.

Good management and food means I will be putting Rosati's on my short list of go-to pizza places.

Delicious pizza, super crispy fries, great boneless wings...but most importantly: professional and friendly service.

Will definitely go again!

Edit: well, we went again...

Cashier tried to overcharge us....

Paid for double dough and got thin crust.

Called the manager and she was very pleasant, and apologized... But it shouldn't have happened to begin with. She did give us a credit for next time.

Great pizza!! Tried the deep dish and thin crust. Both tasted delicious. Tons of cheese and sauce. Deep dish can feed a few grown men easily. Will definitely go back to try out some wings next time.
