Texas PitMaster BBQ

Folks might call this one of those hole in the wall places. If you blink, you're probably going to miss it. Just a couple of steps down from the post office, it's usually hidden by all the cars out front. This ain't no itty-bitty fast food joint. It's a full on Texas spread. Menu don't look like much at first glance and somethings aren't on the menu. We got some alligator nuggets. Kinda like a real Texas rattlesnake bite but with alligator meat and cheese inside. They come with some sweet BBQ and hot pepper dipping sauce. You're gonna need to go ahead and order two. My wife ordered chicken and baked beans. I got the brisket and coleslaw. We both got the loaded potato salad. What they brought looked like a child's plate, until I started eating. Brisket was so tender, I didn't even need my choppers, it just melted in my mouth. Coleslaw was way better than most restaurants. Usually, it's either super chunky or pulverized. This had just the right texture and just a little bit crisp. Wife's chicken was great, she just couldn't eat the whole thing. Baked beans had pineapple chunks in them and it was a very good taste. Now I haven't figured out what was in their loaded potato salad, but it ain't Grandma's potato salad. Entire staff was fantastic, from the time we stepped in the front door to the time we left. They have live music in the evening some nights. I'm pretty sure they haven't seen the last of us, except next time we're bringing friends.

Had a fabulous lunch here today. We were seated quickly and sweet Hailey took our order. The food arrived quickly. Loved the BBQ brisket sandwich (they included burnt ends!) and the smoked cabbage. Portion size was perfect. Hailey took such great care of us, making sure we had everything. Loved the paper towel holder. Lunch was very reasonable. Definitely add this to your trip.

I was born and raised in Texas, so trust me when I say that I've had a lot of brisket in my lifetime. This was absolutely top tier bbq. I would recommend the brisket all day long.
