Caet is pronounced Kate. It's an interesting place. It was a short walk from the Renaissance Hyatt where we were staying. Despite covid regulations and an ample crowd, we were seated promptly. The menu was enticing and we ended up ordering gumbo and a seafood platter. The seafood was mildly seasoned and sat upon a huge pile of French fries. The gumbo was New Orleans style - no roux, but rather a tomato base, and thick rather than soupy. There was a generous amount of seafood in it, including large gulf shrimp. I found it spicy and flavorful, but my wife didn't like it. The seafood platter contained huge gulf shrimp, tiny oysters, and small fillets of some kind of fish. The seafood was properly fried and had a nice texture . Seasoning was mild. The hush puppies were surprisingly good and I even enjoyed the coleslaw - not normally a favorite of mine. We would have liked to see a crab patty or stuffed crab as part of this platter. Most of those french fries were still there when we finished our meal - a waste. Service was casual, but okay. The wait staff all had masks, but it appeared that none of the kitchen staff wore masks. Cost of the meal was reasonable.

The salmon was beautifully cooked and tender. I was not a huge fan of the sides that were paired with it.

Excellent wine selection by the glass or bottle.

They have indoor and outdoor seating.

This was my first time at their new location. The interior has not changed much since Seafood Revolution held this location.

Everything was beautiful! Ambiance, decor, plating. Our server, Walter, was super knowledgeable and relaxed. He definitely contributed to the laid-back vibe that was present in the restaurant, in spite of the gorgeous surroundings. Caet does feel very relaxing. Walter assured us multiple times to take our time, and this was on a Friday night! It was great to be able to savor every course of our superb meal! We had soft-shell crab and oysters two ways to start and then a mix of beef, fish, and seafood dishes for our party of four, so we really experienced the gamut of Caet's offerings. Favorites included the roasted oysters w/Brie and Pork Belly, and the Redfish on Lobster risotto. Strangely, I would choose this for steak as well as seafood, as the NY strip and the Steak Frites were outstanding. The only deficit was the absence of Chocolate Cake. We had the mousse, which was excellent, and served in a brownie-like cake cup, but, alas it's not the same as chocolate cake.

The food was great but the service could have been better on my first visit in the dining area. I had to ask for refills and barely saw our waitress. I expect more at a fine dining experience that I spend more than $100 at for 2 people. The second time I went I sat in the bar area. The secluded booth in the corner is great for a party of 4 or 5. The service from the waitress in the bar area was excellent. I will visit another time but I do expect more.
