Smokehouse Barbecue - Independence

A great go-to if you want a nicer atmosphere and decent quality KC BBQ. I always like to equate Smokehouse's quality similar to Jack Stacks, but a bit more fair priced, especially if you grab one of their dinners for 2 or 3.

Sadly it misses the 5 star rating for me only because their BBQ overall is generally pretty good, but nothing is the best around save for their quite delicious sides. That aside, it is my most frequented spot and would absolutely recommend it for family outings, dates, business, or bragging on KC BBQ to your out of town friends and relatives if you can't get them to one of the smaller better joints around town.

We came to Missouri and Kansas City to have some wonderful ribs. We were not disappointed in fact we went to The smokehouse BBQ and were pleasantly surprised. I thought that because it seemed to be a large restaurant and not a small camping one that we would have a problem. That was not the case, the ribs are very meaty and soft and tender. The barbecue sauce which is housemaid was phenomenal. Perfect melt in your mouth and removed from the bone with a simple bite. we also had burnt ends combination of pork and beef that were just as well delicious but a different type of barbecue sauce. So if you find yourself in Independence Missouri. Hungry for ribs please check it out.

Great atmosphere. Upscale bbq restaurant. The waitress was nice. Bbq beans and potato salad were flavorful. The ribs fell off the bone and had great flavor. Did I mention the bbq sauce, I could have drank it through a straw. Great place and great lunch combinations .

Wait was not longer than they said. The BBQ grilled shrimp was tender and cooked perfectly. The other person had the New York strip and she raved about it. The dinner salads are more than just lettuce. Would go back for sure!

Not sure if it's because I haven't been here in a while, but everything was great. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was kind and patient with our indecisiveness. I had the burnt ends dinner with baked beans & sweet potato fries. I also ordered the cheese corn and it was a hit minus the small pieces of ham. Oh the punch drnk is very nice.
