Society

We were celebrating a year of being together, plus it was my birthday! Society was spectacularly beautiful, and it wasn't busy so we got a huge, half circle, velvety booth to ourselves! The bartender, Ashley took exceptional care of us, educated us a lot on a few different drinks and made me a special gin birthday drink!! I'm not a whiskey person but would still HIGHLY recommend the spicy whiskey drink that I can't remember the name.

I can't rant enough! The food was so good, I was eating the calamari crumbs out of the sauce with a fork! (Probably wouldn't act like that normally but it was my birthday, and that's how good it was.) I've NEVER had calamari that good before. We also got the dynamite roll and it totally lived up to its name. After we were starting to wind down, Zack(I was a few drinks in, I hope i remember his name right) came out and talked more about drinks and gave us an AMAZING strawberry (cheesecake-esque) dessert. Maybe it was the creme brulee? Idk but it was so incredible, the ENTIRE experience. My new favorite place in Kansas City, by far. Thank you all so much!!!! We will be back any chance we get!!!!

Sweet spot. Artsy and colorful. My first time visiting. Ordered a Woodford old fashioned, which was excellent. My only beef (not willing to dock a star for it) is that they didn’t honor their happy hour pricing on the cocktail. Was offered a choice of whiskey (all pretty basic), but apparently the Woodford disqualified the drink from the discount. Anyway, not the end of the world. I hope to visit again. Side note: I attended a special event in their Scarlet Room next to the main bar, which was really nice. Better selection of spirits in there. Apparently it turns into something of a club on the weekends. Will have to give that a try sometime.

Found this place by searching for happy hours! The decor was very modern and had a great vibe. 1/2 off of their sushi and apps. Everything we ordered tasted delicious. It came out in a timely manner. They even accomedated the kids taste buds by providing us white rice and seasoned fries! Our server was very friendly refilled water glasses promptly, noticed when alcoholic bevereges were empty and did a great job clearing finished plates. Well worth a drop it! The best part is their happy hour goes till 7!

Had a great experience at Society for brunch! Live music made it even more fun, and it was not too loud so we could still enjoy company and catching up. We tried lots of items, including some not pictured here. Service was very friendly and informative. The prices are great. They do offer bottomless mimosas if that's what you're looking for in a brunch. The menu has offerings for everyone. GET THE PRIME RIB SANDWICH! And the tater tots.

There's a parking garage a couple of blocks away, and street parking - although in this area it can be scarce. Entrance is accessible, as are restrooms, which are gender neutral. Design of the interior is really beautiful! Chairs are super comfy. There's a couple of rooms so it'd be a great place for a large group or for experiencing their nightlife scene. But check it out for brunch, like we did.

Great service!! We loved loved bartender/waitress. The food was great and tasted fresh like homemade made with love. I had the Thai salad and it did not disappoint. I love papaya salads and that was a great take on that amazing dish.
