Excellent food from the famed Tony's menu, with many items available at a lower price than their fancier sibling (especially at lunch). Great service in a unique, modern atmosphere.
It amazes me that this place wasn't overrun with people who know it is a hidden gem of a great place to eat & drink minus the Millennial techno trappings or old school upscale standards of needing to be appropriately dressed nor the vacuous markers of either of them. The approximately 30 foot cubic confines of Anthony's Bar is like something out of a suspense novel with Joe, the wizened bartender, handling things with the appropriate aplomb of a master sommelier, gourmet, and someone who probably knows all the people who know where all the bodies are buried. Without his defining presence, I seriously doubt the place would feel like the undiscovered local prize that it is.
I can't explain why on a Thursday evening there weren't more patrons in this casual bar associated with the more upscale restaurant, "Tony's", in the same building - food & wine all come from the same kitchen. Joe, the food, and the wine were all great.
Go for the good food & wine. Trust Joe to make you feel welcome, comfy, and confident you made the right choice for dinner. Although decor wise it was obviously from another time, don't expect the meaningless market hype and positioning aimed at any particular generational demographic. It's just a surprisingly good place to go eat. Money well spent.
Cozy, excellent food, attentive staff and manager. You can tell they take their work seriously. I dropped in for quick bite on my business trip. At $36 bucks for shrimp and lobster liguine it's not cheap. But you won't be sorry you spent it because it's worth it. Excellent and friendly service from Joe.
This is a great place for a quiet lunch. Small, attractive bar. Nice wait staff. Food deliscious. Crab cake sliders tasty.
Our bartender Joe provided great service! We had the goat cheese in homemade red sauce for the appetizer and it was fantastic. My dinner portion was the 6 oz Sirloin cooked medium with greens and twice baked potato. Compliments to the chef it was top notch! We will return and I would recommend anyone looking for a quiet night out with a significant other to try Anthony’s.
