Tony's is old school cool. The place is a little hard to find and remind me of something out of a mob movie. The service was world class. They really take care of you. Not many restaurants have table side service anymore and Tony's excels at it. You do not just have a waiter at Tony's you have a team to take care of you.
The food was perfect, for a starter I had the seared scallops and they were fantastic. The sauce was so good I dipped my bread in it to get maximum flavor.
For dinner I got the filet with green-beans, it was perfectly cook and melted in your mouth like butter. The chianti sauce perfectly accompanied the steak and did not over power it. For desert I ordered the creme brûlée and it was perfect. Crunchy top and creamy sweet custard.
With the service and food Tony's is a must any time your in St. Louis
Had wedding anniversary dinner at Tony’s tonight and it was a very good experience. The staff was attentive and professional. My wife had the veal chops covered in eggplant with a side of cream spinach. This is large but tasty meal and she was only able to eat 1/4 of the meal. I had swordfish with cream spinach. The spinach light, fluffy (not heavy & mushy) and well flavored. The sword fish was good but could have benefited from more seasoning. For dessert she had Carmel ice cream pie and I had peaches & and ice cream. Both were delicious. I recommend Tony’s for special occasions and fine dining. Dress code is Business Casual.
I may have fallen victim to overly high expectations. I have no real criticisms: the food was very good and the service was polite and unobtrusive. I ate pate, white asparagus, and the veal trio, and all were cooked and presented nicely. But Tony's outsized reputation led me to expect something unique, I suppose, and I didn't feel anything like that. It was a pleasant, quiet, fairly expensive restaurant, like others.
From the very beginning of getting out of the car, to being waited on to getting back in the car it was an amazing experience! I was treated with such respect and gratitude. Above and beyond my expectations and I would reccomend this magnificent restaurant!
Great wine selection as well as the food.
Food was "okay", staff was friendly. Was expecting more flavorful food for the amount of money we spent. I had one of the specials halibut, and the other entree was the prime rib.
