Chez Ali is one of the underrated options within the City Foundry food hall. It is located on the far western end of the food hall, and I think the food items are among the more adventurous so they may not get as much traffic.
I am far from an expert on Jamaican food, but my $14 plate of Jamaican jerk chicken, red beans and rice, and cabbage was outstanding!!! The chicken is flavored so, so well, and while you do have to be careful about the bones (as some people have lamely complained about on here), it's doable with a little bit of work. I am not a huge cabbage person, but mixing in the cabbage with the red beans and rice was delightful. I ate my whole plate over the course of 25 minutes and felt full and great the rest of the day! Chez Ali may not be at the top of people's list at the Foundry, but I would definitely work it into the rotation.
Lots of food & decently priced! Is has the chicken sampler which was $17. It came with Yassa chicken (lemon pepper & Dijon flavors), curry chicken, jerk chicken, cabbage, and rice. It was good & I’ll definitely be back.
Food is always good, the workers are always nice. Taste of the food is consistent each time I visit. I’ve even brought a friend to come enjoy and she likes it too. On this visit I got the chicken curry plate with rice and beans, cabbage, and added 2 beef samosas. Only suggestion id like to make is if you could maybe do a special menu item at-least once a month so we can experience other things.
Chez Ali's Yassa chicken is the best bite I've had in St Louis. Every time I visit, I'm blown away. It's so tasty, so consistently excellent. Red beans and rice, jerk chicken, samosas, and plantains are all amazing too.
