Great chicken sandwich! My wife had the chicken katsu sandwich and I had the sweet and spicy chicken katsu sandwich and they both were excellent. The chicken was extremely crispy. The fries fries with the togorashi seasoning were amazing.

Sweet & Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando was very good. Very filling and flavorful. Curry fries were also a nice side to complete the meal.

First time trying and wasn’t disappointed. Fun small space with great staff but limited counter dine-in seating, so if you’re planning to eat there eyeball how busy they are first or get your order as take away.

Since it was our first time in we tried their signature chicken katsu sandwich, I got curry fries and my friend got regular salt fries, and we shared a side of the Pork Wings mostly because we’d never heard of them. The sandwiches were very tasty, a bit over fried/burnt but still great flavor and extremely juicy meat. Literally had juices flying out when I bit into a thicker part of the chicken, so kudos to the chef for making that happen with fried chicken! 😍 Having had this type of Japanese sandwich in both Tokyo and Paris, I missed the traditional hyper attention to perfectly neat dimensions and clean cuts so the sandwich is beautiful to the eye, but totally understand if this isn’t their goal and they’re focused on a casual, even if a bit messy to eat, style katsu sandwich.

The Pork Wings were amazing! Perfectly cooked with a flavorful Asian style BBQ. I’d honestly order just those if i could get it with a side of rice and Japanese pickles! I wish they had more Japanese tea drink options, lots of sugar heavy options but would love cold black, green, or even barley tea options as they pair well with salty fried foods.

Overall, wasn’t blown away but enjoyed it and will definitely go back as I know they’ll improve as they get settled in their new space. 😋

My wife and I have followed Sando Shack for a while on social as they got ready to open their brick-and-mortar. We had high expectations. Yall did not disappoint.

The location is great. It's in an awesome little spot in Tower Grove Park, and they did an amazing job with the build-out of the shop.

The food is something I was very excited about. Asian Sandwiches are extremely under-represented in the St Louis area (except the Banh Mi lol). There's so much from the Japanese culture alone that doesn't get its moment to shine. Most Americans know Sushi and Ramen, but the street food culture in Asia is the best in the world. I knew going in this would be delicious, but I wasn't prepared for its balance. I got the Sweet and Spicy Sando which was a perfect balance of spice to sweetness. Neither flavor dominated the other. There was a perfect union that was enhanced by the acidity of the slaw. It was reminiscent of Nashville Hot Chicken but was still so different. The toast of the bread, the crispiness of the Chicken, and the perfect balance that the slaw provided was out of bounds. Now, most places throw some mediocre fries in the box and call it a day. These were not that. They had a perfect crisp and paired with the curry seasoning, tasted great.

Now the chances of someone reading this far into my review are slim. However, if you are reading this stop what you are doing right now and go and order Sando Shack. You can thank me later.
