“The flavor was VERY good. However this was served more like Qdoba & Chipotle. I think the FLAVOR here was MUCH better. I don't care for this type of restaurant. I was expecting a sitdown & order. Again, for me I would rather have this place than Chipotle & the like, and Taco Bell IMO is better than Qdoba & the like, but this is better than Taco Bell.”

“I am giving this place 5 stars because of the service we received after our visit. We left our diaper bag there and live a state away. The manager, Megan, mailed us our diaper bag back, with zero problems! She communicated with my spouse. The diaper bag had a few things in it from our recent road trip that were irreplaceable, like a memory card from my camera. I would have been fine with her just sending the card, but she just popped the whole thing in the mail, no problem. Our server at the actual restaurant left a lot to be desired. She treated us badly, as if we were inconvenient. The salad bar was just okay, but the food was good. It seemed like a family place. Customers were obviously regulars and were happy. There were smiles all around the place. Maybe our server was having a bad day, but Megan's help made up for our actual experience. We will definitely stop in again when we pass through.”

If you are unsure what to order or how to order drinks, the staff is happy to make suggestions. There is a list of options for ingredients for each part that goes into the type of drink allowing you to personalize your own creation. Gift cards and merch are available. Desserts are beautiful and delicious, i dub this shop a must stop.”

“Looking for lunch off the 80 on our long haul trip from California to New York and found this place open on Labor Day Monday - not a lot to look at but the food is fabulous. We walked to the back of the store to an area where food is served. The language barrier was not a problem as we pointed to what we wanted - African rice , beef & onion dish and fried (with spices) chicken legs. Also some fresh bananas unpeeled. The food was perfect, and the owners were helpful and friendly. We will hit it on the way back 🙂”

“We loved this place! Comfort food made from scratch. A modest place that we would not find or not for google leading us here on a road trip, but what a delight. I enjoyed speaking with the restaurant manager who showed me the woodwork in progress all made by hand by the owner. Lots of locals eating here which tells you it’s good. Highly recommended if you want to try Salvadoran food and hospitality !”

“I’ve come here twice before deciding to write a review. My first time wasn’t great, our food order somehow got lost or not put in at all. So it took about two hours to get anything. The second time though was way better. The Bloody Mary was very tasty and the food was great too. It also came out very quickly! We will definitely be back!”

“It was very good! We were just passing through town, and their menu online looked good. It was very good. We got the shrimp alfredo and the parmesan halibut. Both were delicious. The waitress was also very sweet and recommended two drinks, the strawberry fields and butterfly effect both good drinks and good service. Will consider stopping in again the next time we pass through town. Not far off the freeway. It seemed like it was run out of someone's garage and patio but gave it a nice, trendy, but home like feel. Also, the dessert! It was a custard like pudding, very rich, but light like cheesecake in a bowl was fantastic and another great suggestion from the waitress. Seems like a wonderful small business, and we're happy to have found it.”

“Small town diner atmosphere. Plenty of locals in groups looking like they are having a great time. Friendly wait staff. She kept checking with us as well as all the other patrons. Well run and clean. While we were here the floor mat man 👨 came and swapped out the floor mats. Everyone knew each other and that made this place a very welcoming place. We were in town for travel to the northland from mesa. So glad I had a bike ride this morning and explored the downtown so could experience this place rather than just eating at the hotel or a caseys. Although I do enjoy a good caseys breakfast 🍕. Lol. Highly recommend the green 🍏 Cafe.”

“I cannot express how happy I was to find this “hidden gem” (to us). We make the drive through Nebraska fairly frequently and, as vegans who try to eat relatively healthily, we don’t usually have a very easy time finding food along the highway. This was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in my life; their salsa is incredible and we really enjoyed our veggie fajitas (sorry I didn’t get a photo!). I was even able to get some agua de jamaica, which I drank all day every day when I lived in Mexico, but don’t frequently get to treat myself with here in the states. I cannot express how grateful I am that we found Casa Vieja!!!”

“Nice place with a cool north woods feel. Friendly staff. I had the spicy burrito and chose pork for the filling. They covered it in their homemade pork green chili. I’m not from around here, but this thing was so good I’d consider stopping here anytime I’m within 100 miles of the place. Also, hello Dawn!”

“Great food, fantastic and fast service and nice and quiet and lit up. The BLT sandwich with fries was perfect for sharing and the chicken noodle soup was homemade. Delicious. Definitely a place to stop at on your travels. The waitress was so friendly. Loved this place. Also their coffee was one of the best I've had a Cafe or restaurant. The waitress said, they get compliments on it often.”

“If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!!! My boyfriend and I were road-tripping from Wisconsin to California. We happened to come across Lisa's Kitchen and my goodness was it INCREDIBLE! Probably the best Chinese food we had ever had and trust me, we have had A LOT of Chinese food - ha! Everything is so fresh and Lisa is wonderful! Stopping here was one of the highlights on our cross country road trip. If you're in Nebraska you have to check it out. She's a phenomenal cook! Thanks Lisa!!”

“I had never had any experience here before tonight. Well done Runza! Crinkle fries, good. Runza original sandwich, good. Chili GOOD Service team was excellent and they bring your food to your table, what? This place will be on my pick list as I return to the highway and make my way east. And I confess: I dipped my fries in the chili”
