Delicious food and good beer selection too.
Unfortunately our togo order was missing half. Had to wait 15 minutes on the rest, so now the salmon is cold and the lobster roll is warm. At least we discovered it before getting all the way home!
These guys must be from NOLA. First bite from my Blackened Chicken dish was a blast of Cajun Goodness. Fresh oyster selection, I chose the Roundabout since they give you 2 of each style. I've been to several other restaurants in Missouri & Nebraska and this is tops for me. Fresh tasting food with close attention to authentic spices and fair pricing with a nice selection of craft beers. Great Job Guys you made me feel like I was back in New Orleans, all you need now is some NOLA Jazz playing in the background! I will be back for more.
5 stars for food, 3 stars for service = average of 4 stars. Their catfish po-boys and fries are amazing and kudos to them for serving drinks with some actual booze in them. Each hostess that we've been greeted by has been the grumpiest women we've ever encountered in the service industry. And while the waiters are more friendly, we've had to harass them for drinks we've ordered. We will definitely be returning only for the food.
We tried Shucks this weekend for the first time. My wife liked it enough we went back Sunday, too.
The hosts both days weren't overly friendly. Neither looked happy or smiled either day. The waitress made up for it Saturday but not Sunday. Our drink order was also completely forgotten until we asked where they were when the food was delivered on Sunday.
I do not recommend the Gumbo, it's way too thick vs authentic New Orleans Gumbo. It was almost a stew thickness. I also do not recommend the pasta, as the shrimp scampi was pretty plain tasting.
So why a decent rating? The Po' Boys are very good, as are the Cajun Catfish with fries. So stick to Seafood here and you're golden. I also recommend getting to happy hour from 4-6PM which runs 7 days a week for 3.50 Margaritas and good food prices.
