Absolutely one of the most unique and incredible dining experiences not only here in Omaha, but anywhere I've ever been. Tucked away in the heart of Benson is a place I hope each person living here in Omaha gets to experience at some point. Each visit is always different and exciting due to their rotating menu and it is clear they put a great deal of love and care into their craft. The front and back of the house are one of the most well functioning teams I've seen in the city. Thank you!
If you like tasty and beautifully plated food, you're going to LOVE Au Courant! The octopus, beef cheek, and risotto are favs and many of the appetizers are creative and tasty - nearly too pretty to eat. They also have a good wine list and nice selection of cocktails with names and specials geared toward music buffs and the house music. I found the portions to be perfect as the food is very rich, but some of my companions who are used to the monstrous portions of your average midwestern chain restaurants had to order a couple of extra entrees to feel like they had enough food. Service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
First trip Au Courant. Really great food and service to match. I did have to look up a couple of items in my phone because I did not take French. The waitress did a great job of explaining what a how to order. We capped of dinner with a properly sized and vary good desert. The only downside impacts all restaurants in Benson, parking.
I missed the first course picture but oh my goodness. Au Courant did not disappoint. From the food to the impeccable service. Hands down one of the best meals and dining experiences I have had to date. We did the wining pairing as well and it was equally as good. Highly highly recommend.
Au Courant is a farm to table restaurant but with that said the consistency of their dishes changes with the seasons. I stopped in during the fall and I feel their dishes lacked the same flavor profile as some different times of year. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out to me as extraordinary. I'd consider returning in the future but I'm not from the area.
