The Crab Trap

Great place. Yesterday was our 34th Wedding Anniversary. We met up with my brother. This place is packed and for a great reason. Food is awesome and our waitress Janice rocked. I took her photo. Keep up the great service.

My two favorites are the steamed mussels and the French Onion soup. I have had both the red or white sauce with the mussels which are both flavorful. They do have a twilight menu from 3 PM to 5 PM with at least 8 entrees. Salad or soup of the day, vegetable choices depending on entree, dessert, coffee or tea. Service is generally good. There is a Happy Hour during the week. It can get busy in the evening.

Food and service were excellent. I started with the Maryland she crab soup which was full of crab and vegetables and had a nice spicy kick. My entree was the fried oysters with chicken salad, an old South Philly favorite. Perfectly fried, large, meaty oysters with maybe a little too thick breading but absolutely delicious. I typically prefer just a flour dredge or a light batter. The chicken salad was lightly dressed and flavorful. Great lunch at a old standby

Place is very busy but we were served rather rapidly. Food Portions were very nice and the food tastes great and service was timely and great. The bread comes warm and often. Very solid buy, reasonably priced ( I did go offseason, which is a factor). Drink selection is also highly varied. Very highly recommended.

We showed up with a party of 9 with no reservation at around 4pm on a Saturday and the place was packed... Even though it was packed they got is seated pretty quickly. The seafood was fresh and the waitress took good care of us. Great spot for fresh seafood!
