Le Salbuen Cafe

This place was fantastic. Small, casual, and excellent food. We were able to get in without a reservation, but it took a lot of luck.

The service is very friendly and efficient, and it's the right kind of small and bustling to be cozy.

I had the braised duck, and then the bread pudding and coffee. Mostly I noticed that the texture of everything was perfect. The duck easily shredded with a fork, and the dish came with frites to sop up the sauce.

The bread pudding was a great citrus cream flavor, and not too sweet.

My only regret is that everything else on the menu looked just as good, so I don't know what to get next time.

The owners/chef were absolutely delightful and for them I wanted to give 5 stars, but the waitress was pretty bad. Also the food was all very tasty, however the gumbo was misleading. I liked it very much, but it was in no way gumbo. I asked the chef and she said it was a combination of leftover ingredients. That's all well and good, a nice use of what's on hand, but end of the day it shouldn't be called gumbo. Our shrimp and grits appetizer was some of the best I've ever had, and the vegan curry dish was also delightful.
All in all I will return for sure, but maybe not order the "gumbo" again. Great date night spot

Great brunch! Well cooked and great produce! Local meat/sausage was amazing and the vegetarian/vegan options are great!

Authentic,all ingredients are fresh and delicious! Their black bean burrito is a must and their root vegetable hash is so unique! Great and fast service????

Fantastic French bistro! I come for breakfast and their food is incredible. I highly recommend the Portuguese French toast! They have extensive vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options. The atmosphere and decor is beautiful and makes me feel like I'm in Paris!
