Aroy-D, The Thai Elephant

This review will get better I promise, just read until the end. Okay let's start with the "eh". I was really not a fan of the Pad See Ew. Maybe it's just their recipe but compared to many of the other Pad See Ews I have had tried both across Thailand and in local Thai restaurants in NJ, NYC, and SF, I just felt that it was seriously lacking flavor. So much so that I felt that it must have been a mistake so maybe I'll try it again However!..Their Pad Thai was some of the best Pad Thai I have ever had and the decor of their restaurant is beautiful. I will be definitely be back for the Pad Thai.

This place has a lovely atmosphere, warm and welcoming staff, great service and great food. I've been going here with my family for around two years now and it's become one of my favorite places to eat.

Don't order the fish though.

I've tried about half of what's on the menu, and everything has been incredibly delicious, but the dishes containing (COOKED) fish are mediocre at best (the poke bowl is alright). It is overcooked 99% of the time and unpleasant to eat. Shrimp and other seafood are safe, but avoid the salmon and the snapper.

Other than that caveat, though, this place rocks. Their lunch specials are stellar and cheap. If you ever see their food truck at an event, you absolutely *must* get the noodles from it. They are killer (and very spicy).
