HiiQuality Empanadas

We love the smiles and good vibes that greet us at the door as much as we love the food. HQ makes some of best empanadas! Gourmet quality turnovers that are cooked to perfection. Each golden crispy pocket is packed with fresh flavors and have perfect texture! The sides and soups are equally amazing. Clean, consistent and always welcoming. If size matters, then you may want to go elsewhere otherwise HQ is definitely a place to try if you want to eat gourmet empanadas.

My friend and I got the two empanadas and one side option for 14.99.
The sides we chose were the fried spiral potato on a stick. It's a whole potato!
The empanadas were expertly fried and delicious. They have a large variety of fillings to choose from.

I probably could have eaten like 10 of them but then again, I'm a glutton. Ask my friends.

The empanadas are insanely delicious and they're SO unique! Crispy on the outside, so tender in the center and perfect flavor. Every flavor was delicious and the Hi Spiral is recommended. The restaurant is adorable and a must see!

Delicious empanadas! The shop is very cute as well. But of all things, it's the coleslaw that prompted me to leave a review! It is so flavorful, better than any I have had before. Looking forward to trying more things from here!

THE GREAT!: 1.The staff is very welcoming and hospitable. 2.The interior of the establishment is clean. 3.The restaurant decor looks professional in appearance. THE LESS THAN GREAT! 1) The empanadas in our opinion tasted ordinary/average rather than spectacular or different. 2)The sauce tasted strongly of mayonnaise. Again, it did not have a special twist in taste. 3) The empanadas noticeably had less meat in them compared to other restaurants in the area who also serve empanadas. 4) The menu is very limited. 5)The price point per empanada is high. To date, we visited this establishment on two separate occasions. The first time there were a lot of people sitting in chairs and sprawled across the neighboring steps talking and laughing loudly. We assumed they were family and friends because none of them were actually eating food. However, they left us no place to sit down and eat. At any rate, when we heard an African-American owned restaurant was coming to the area my entire family felt excited at the prospect of eating favorful ethnic food. But, we were surprised to discover that they were selling only empanandas. Additionally, the empanadas were not better, different or special from what other local restaurants in the area are already selling. In short, the interior of the establishment looks nice and the food is certainly palatable however respective to the cost of each empanada we felt disappointed that they did not taste better than just average. Nonetheless, we will try them again in a few months in the hopes of positively altering our review.
