“This was our first visit to El Mexicano. It appeared to be a family owned business. The music was very loud, like we were at a child’s birthday party. The lighting was also very bright. It was not a cozy atmosphere for dining. We ordered various tacos and were not impressed. They were mediocre. I had the steak tacos and I found the steak to be dry and not seasoned. The waitress was friendly and nice. The restaurant appeared clean. We also noticed that main dishes that other tables ordered looked and smelled really good. On that basis, we decided that we will go back and give El Mexicano another try as we only tried the tacos.”

He marinates all of his meats he cooks and everything is very flavorful! His food is very fresh and is served with fresh veggies / salads / coleslaw. Not sure what food you’re in the mood for? “Very pleasantly surprised - a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I stopped in to get some beer and wine on a Friday night. They've turned the place into a surprisingly nice venue. The bar and liquor sales were open, although I don't think the kitchen was. Extremely warm and friendly folks. Next time I will definitely sit down at the bar for a drink, and see what's on the menu. “Vicky's is an awesome cafe that serves all your typical favorites such as bacon egg and cheese bagels, muffins, sandwiches, rolls, coffee, chili, and much more. I highly recommend the bacon or porkroll egg and cheese bagels. Wonderfully toasted, soft bagels where each bite of the sandwich is a delight. Vicky and her staff are super kind. They'll remember almost everyone's names and are genuinely happy to see you. I stop by even if I'm not checking out the flea market or come during bad weather because I enjoy getting breakfast here just that much.”

“The food is exceptionally well prepared. I had 4 meals in the first week they had opened--just to try out their different dishes and out of excitement of having a decent halal restaurant in town. Quite frankly, this is the best halal restaurant in the area. I would also encourage trying their shrimp dishes; they were quite tasty. Additionally, they have an elaborate menu option to choose from. The ambiance is nice and trendy. Owner is very humble and friendly. One thing is that the service could be quicker—but think they will be addressing that soon as they ease into the routine after an unusually busy opening.”
