“The 5 stars are because of the great food...not the atmosphere or the service. The fried lobster is wonderful. I got 5 pieces of lobster that looked to be tail halves. Good bread, adequate salad. Wife got seafood combo, also very good, loved the crab cake. A nice option other than potatoes was asparagus with no up charge. The asparagus was fresh, nicely done, not overcooked. Rolls also good. Service is adequate, a little slow but that might have been the kitchen getting behind. They do not take reservations. We got there (Saturday night) around 6:45 and had a little more than a half hour wait. You can look at the boats at the marina! Near the end of our wait they were telling new comers 1 1/2 hours. This place is LOUD. Not cozy, quiet, and romantic. It is neat and clean, but loud. It seems to be mostly locals dining here. It is BYOB and lots of people do just that. Don't think there is a corking fee as most of what I saw was people opening their own bottles (except for some that forgot the corkscrew LOL). This place is well rehearsed at turning over tables. We were watching this one young woman. A table of six left, and within 3.5 minutes she had QUIETLY cleared the table and reset it for six again. We were timing her for fun, and she was consistent and fun to watch. Dessert options were not impressive, in fact, the dessert menu was exactly the same as where we ate last night...this area needs improvement. We did not order dessert. Pictured is the lobster and the combo. (Lemons already removed from the one plate...they are generous with the lemons too)”

“Good food. Ordered fries and when I got them was only enough for one person (in my opinion). Maybe I should have asked for a large serving for 5 people but I would have expected them to ask what size I wanted. Most other pizza joints give a healthy size serving if just ordering one. This place not so much if not told. Otherwise nice place to eat.”

“Great little place! Not being one that's a huge fan of bar atmospheres, this little place was cozy. Wife and I got a nice spot by the door and enjoyed a great meal. Very large menu, a little pricey but it's worth every penny. Very nice staff. Would highly recommend and I personally can't wait to go back for another steak sandwich! “My steamers were kind of cold when they came out and the sweet potato fries were eh. However the calamari is very good and so is the pulled pork burger. I recommend regular fries, extra crispy and instead of getting small plates get the combos such as Neptune's, and the Main Event. Also the wait for our food wasn't long at all, they open at 11:30 am and are open until 10 pm. I recommend going closer to when they open so it's not as busy and you won't have to wait long for your food. Overall very good service and I would go again.”

“What an incredible first experience at the Beach House. I admit, I was a little weary given some of the reviews but with anything, I took them with a grain of salt. Really happy I did because the experience myself and my group had was nothing short of amazing. First, the hostess was very friendly and sat us right away. We were a party of four adults and a toddler. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. To start we ordered the house calamari which was absolutely delicious in a tomato sauce with a hint of spice. My husband also ordered the soup of the day which was shrimp and scallop bisque. He really enjoyed it and I also had a taste and have to agree it was delicious. For entrees I had the herbed French chicken, and the remainder of the party had the stuffed flounder, the Nanny's (half rack of ribs with a crab cake) and surf and turf. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.”

“The New Year’s Eve “special menu” was doubled in price & very limited. You had to buy a package which included an appetizer & dessert. My appetizer of fresh tuna was paltry and served on 2 tortilla chips .It was tasty,but looked like elf food. My companion’ s meal was a chicken & veal combo covered in brown gravy.It looked like a giant burger. Not a piece of parsley or vegetable in sight to improve an unappetizing presentation. Our meals were not special at all and very over priced.”

“Love this place! Great atmosphere; there are now multiple picnic tables, high tables, and benches around outside to eat. Bowls are delicious; I definitely recommend Eating In with your bowl rather than Togo so they are picture perfect worthy! Employees were helpful, especially if you are unsure with all the different bowls. They even let you try samples of their bases. Overall I love this place definitely coming back!”

“Looks are deceiving. From the outside of the bright yellow building and the pink bus, I assumed this would look like a a brighter, more female friendly restaurant /bar. Mama always said not to judge a book by its cover... I walked into a dark, man bar. At the time I went (in winter too), I was one of the only female customers. BUT that being said, I felt comfortable. It's a casual place with good happy hour specials, good drinks, nice staff and yummy bar type food. Our bartender, Mike, was great! My grilled cheese and onion rings was tasty and the fried green beans were delicious! Their signature drink The Pink Bus was fruity and good. An important PS... The place got more couple heavy as the evening progressed.”

“Very busy...but what place on LBI with good food isn't? The food is good...pizza excellent. Servers seem to be stretched thin - they're clearly running to keep up with the work. Not much time for pleasantries, but they're pleasant just the same. One of the two locations also delivers. We ate lunch at one of the locations for lunch - yummy, but very crowded and incredibly loud with screaming children. A couple of evenings later we had them deliver - reasonably quick delivery, and the food was great. Much quieter! We go to LBI every year, and Joey's is one of our regular stops. Recommended.”
