Journey's Place

This small, family owned, permanent food truck is the best hidden gem in Socorro county. Great pet friendly outdoor seating and they usually give out “pup cups” of whipped cream to the dogs. The green chilie cheese burger is great. The ice cream and shakes are always awesome and the smoothies are good too. There is always something new added to the menu and limited time items as well. If you are passing through the area you have to stop in and Journey will take great care of you.

Best green chili cheese burger in Socorro. Easily better than Blake's. Fresh roasted green chili, nicely seasoned patties, fresh, crispy lettuce, thick tomatoes, toasted sesame seed buns . I'll definitely be coming back for the burgers the fries were a little bit undercooked but that can be easily fixed.

Incredible value. Best burger for the money anywhere. It is rustic. Slow. Casual. Great for the end of the day of driving the nearby trails. Mostly locals. Don't go here if you are in a rush and expecting McDonald's speed. Slow down. Chill!

Back when we lived in the Southeast, we would occasionally go to a chain called Cookout for comfort food, especially milkshakes with numerous additions. So we when moved out to New Mexico, we lamented the loss of a spot to grab some comfort food on a bad day. Until we learned about Journey's Place.

This is a somewhat hidden gem that encapsulates comfort food. Even the surroundings are comforting and the service is friendly and welcoming. If you aren't already a regular, while sitting around and waiting for food or while eating, you'll see people causally running into friends or overhear regulars updating Journey on their lives. We'll go there on a summer evening as the sun is low and the light golden and feel grateful to be living in such a beautiful place and able to sit outside in comfort and eat food that while not exactly healthy is absolutely good for the spirit.

Everything we've had is good. The milkshakes are excellent, with many options. The cheese curds with caramel sauce are absolutely worth trying. The funnel cake fries absolutely deliver. The Italian soda, with numerous flavors to choose from are fantastic.

Best tortilla burger! Really good food. Definitely worth coming back too!
