Exceeded my expectations! Well kept, clean rooms, good shower pressure, super comfy bed & sheets. The only suggestion I have is to have a full length mirror or even just a second mirror in the room. The history in this place is incredible and the bartender makes a killer Chilton. Oh, they also have vegetarian green and red chili as well as vegetarian appetizers and entrées. Highly suggest staying here👍👍
Really cute historic hotel for a great price. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel keeper was exceedingly kind and friendly. The breakfast was good, though keep in mind everything was pre-made and you pick what you want and heat it up in the microwave; excellent coffee.
Very cool! Friendly people. Joe was very nice & helpful. Loved our room. (King room w/ hot tub) Only negative is no coffee pot, microwave & fridge in room. Had to wait to get coffee until 6:30am 😩
This review is for the hotel, not the restaurant, just FYI.
Apparently this hotel is haunted! I cannot speak to these long-standing rumors via direct experience, but the Hotel Eklund is supposedly haunted by a former maid named Irene, who hung herself in room 307.
My fiancee and I stayed next to it in 308 and, aside from some creaky floors, I can say that it was a unique and enjoyable experience that was free of anything supernatural.
The decor simply cannot be beat, however. After all, how often are you able to stay in an old west saloon hotel, replete with saloon doors, the remnants of old gas lamps, and even leftover bullet holes?!
Proprietor Keith was lovely to work with and as creepy as some of the decor can seem, he and his staff make it every bit a welcoming environment for a great stay!
