“This could be the archetype for the New York Jewish deli. It's a hike without a car, but for those who drive, there's a parking lot behind (you'll have to walk around the block to the front door). Inside, friendly staff greets you and can regale you with stories as you eat on a slow, rainy day among the regulars. Of course the pastrami was excellent, and the matzoh ball in the soup dense and perfect. Even the humble hot dog shone, with a snappy casing and a bit of spiciness in every bite. Well worth a detour to see a bit of old New York.”

“Grabbed lunch there as I was early for a nearby Dr appointment. Nice little place, quite decent food, with plenty of gluten free options. Only 3 remarks of any importance : 1) they have a big sign that says no laptop hours (between 11am-2pm if I remember correctly). This is good so that there are no loafers during busy hours. When I went at 12pm for lunch almost every single table was occupied by someone on a laptop. This was very annoying. 2) place is quite pricey. I know it’s Kosher food, but it’s still more expensive than it should be for such light fare. 3) when you pay by card they ask for a tip. This is weird to give a tip before you’ve even been served. Awkward and slightly unusual. If I’m in the area I’d check it out again.”

“They have many variations in flavors, and anybody can have them. Gluten-free, dairy-free, mostly a flavor for everything -free. A huge amount of toppings, way more than I’ve seen in any Frozen yogurt place. The staff are always friendly, an able to deal with large crowds. Almost always the have a cup and/or a few flavors dedicated to a new and popular kids movie, which jut makes t even cooler. Also in a friendly neighborhood, so nobody there is very rude.”

“Excellent prices on sushi rolls for lunch or dinner, and the woman who answers the phone is SO FRIENDLY! We really appreciate that they offer meatless and dairy-free options for their sushi; we love the mango/avocado, cashew nut, and sweet potato rolls. There’s plenty of ginger that comes with each roll, too. Only thing is, be sure to order way ahead of time, as we’ve experienced hour-long and 1-hour 25-minute waits frequently (but the woman who answers the phone is so courteous and reassuring.)”

“Very nice neighborhood Mexican restaurant. More upscale than some, it has a full bar and a menu that goes beyond the typical Mexican "fast food". I particularly like their skirt steak”

“Great local place that serves fresh, made to order Asian dishes (mostly Thai) that are both tasty and reasonably priced. I love their hot and sour soup, it's not the Chinese restaurant sludgy bowl that we grew up with. It's light and flavorful because of the flavores of the fresh meat, veggies and pineapple that in it as opposed to the mystery contents of the Chinese restaurant we're used to. Also their veritable dishes are superb. BTW, the spice "heat" of all their foods can be regulated by theirs chefs, so all their offerings can be eaten be anyone.”

“Pretty good spot. Pizza is much better right out the oven! Lasagna slice is awesome. Mozzarella sticks are surprisingly good. Pepperoni roll not bad, chicken they use could be a bit better but overall good pizza spot for pick up and delivery.”

“Off of Johnson Ave, in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, is this small TexMex restaurant. It's not authentic Mexican, but I don't care. I still like it! The chicken fajitas are a staple and worth a try. I like the steak burritos and chicken quesadillas as well. The ingredients aren't going to blow your mind, but give it a try and tell me what you liked!”

“The food was absolutely delicious. I had the octopus salad, which was char-grilled to perfection and the mango salad. They were both so good, I had no time to take a photo. For my entree, I had the cavatelli and broccoli, which was again, delicious. The service was good. One waiter had a bit of an attitude and lack of urgency but the food made up for him. I will be back!”
