Buffet for funeral meal. The food was absolutely wonderful! The owners and staff were very friendly so kind to us. We had tacos, wings, vegetables plus other items. I never saw so much to put on tacos! The beautiful cakes and cheese cakes were amazing!!

I ordered there to take out. The young woman who helped me was so sweet. Very friendly staff all around. A cozy, inviting place to enjoy phenomenal food, amazing people and yes...sensational music. This place is a whole vibe. Family dinner, yes. Drinks with friends, yes. Dessert with the kids, yes. Whatever your mood, Marshell's is a whole YES. My husband and I ordered the fish fry....mouth watering. All of the sides were amazing. My husband hates coleslaw, but definitely ate Marshell's coleslaw. For me, it was also a very nostalgic trip back home. I grew up on food like this. Marshell's,if you guys read these reviews: Thank you. You let me feel a moment I thought was gone forever. Their food is beyond words. Don't wait, go grab a soul plate!

First time here, I had to check it out cause of all the hype. The place is a little hard to find in the dark and from the outside is very unassuming. A real hole in the wall vibe. Inside is very nice, clean, and has a great atmosphere. I love the decorations and vibe of this spot. We came on a Friday night so it was quite busy so food was a little slow to come out of the kitchen but it was worth the wait. The menu here changes somewhat week to week, which they post on their FB page in advance. I got the oxtail birria tacos, and my dad got the cheeseburger and fries. The birria tacos were different from birria I've had in NYC but the oxtail was incredibly tender and melted in my mouth. The tacos were very flavorful. The burger was cooked medium, very juicy, my dad described it as having a kind of smokey flavor he's never had before. Said it was delicious. The staff were really nice and the restaurant was very clean. I will definitely come back here! I'm interested in trying many other things they offer here

This is the Fish! Lightly breaded and moist inside. The hush-puppies are money. Perfect inside. Mac & Cheese is equally delish. We also liked the fries. Not soaking wet in fry oil. Thank you!

Outside of the building made us a little skeptical, but when you get inside it's a whole different world. Furnishings were great. Place was really clean. Staff very friendly. Started with a half dozen full wings, flavor was great. Both our dinners were great. Sides were excellent. Can't wait to try other things they make. If you are looking for a great place to eat on the south side, give it a try. You won't be disappointed
