“The old hairbag does not disappoint. If there ever was an embodiment of the tired expression “it’s the journey, not the destination” this is it. First of all, the smoked items this legendary man produces live up to the reputation. But more than that, trekking up to the Catskills, down into the valley, to the end of a dirt road, you find yourself transported in time. Mr. Turner may begrudgingly allow you to buy eel or salmon or shrimp that he has lovingly smoked for ten hours the day before. And it will be worth every mile of the drive- no matter where you start the journey from.”

“I think this may be the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in a McDonalds. The coffee was also fresh but a little too hot. I'd stop here again if I was passing through.”

“Best Stromboli I have had in a long time! Great little spot in a small town. If I am ever back through that way again, I will definitely stop there for a meal! Great service too!”

“Excellent surprise in the little town of Hancock NY. Tried for the first time on NYEve. Delicious-quick-inexpensive and authentic!!! Seriously good food. Flavorful and well seasoned! Rivals the best Chinese restaurants in Chinatown & Long Island. We had the beef and mushrooms, beef w/vegetables and the fried rice. Fantastic! Try this place.”

“Great little stop on our New York road trip. Circle E had yummy food, friendly service, and that classic diner atmosphere. Recommended if passing through the area. Worth the drive from the interstate. This cute little river town seemed like it had a lot to offer adventurers and was definitely off the beaten path. Adorable old town, would definitely like to visit again.”

“My wife and I spent two nights in the hotel at the end of June. When we went downstairs for the free breakfast, Rob, the co-owner talked to us for over an hour. That evening, we spent some time in the bar area and Elyce, the other owner and Rob's wife, came to our table and spoke with us for about 30 minutes. They are two of the nicest people I have met in a long time. They make you feel as if you have known them your entire life. It was refreshing to speak with someone my age with similar life experiences who I believe were talking to us out of genuine kindness. Their daughter waited on us for lunch on Saturday and was exceptionally patient with my less than easy to deal with father and sister. Not many people I know have as much grace as she showed while dealing with their, let's call them idiosyncrasies. The food was excellent and reasonably priced with large portions. Although the Beaver-Del is a 9 hour drive from were we live in Virginia, we definitely plan on visiting here again.”
