    I've been here now three times. Twice for dinner and once for thanksgiving. All three times I walked away thinking: meh.

    Some other locals swear by this place, and the food is definitely good. But overall it's nearly as expensive as some of the truly great restaurants in the neighborhood (like Olmstead), drastically more expensive than some of the go-to everyday locals spots (like Rose's) ... and underwhelming compared to any of the above.

    If you are looking for well-executed-but-bland food at higher-than-reasonable prices ... This might be your spot. Otherwise ... You won't be disappointed at James, but you also won't be impressed.

    Lovely, vintage decor, cosy setting, fabulous fresh food, craft cocktails and extremely friendly & attentive service. Highly recommend James for a romantic dinner for 2 or for a group get together. Loved it!

    Very Brooklyn, but a bit more pricy than expected. The food (kale salad) was sooo goood! As well as the rest of the brunch menu. The design is clean and rustic but could be quirkier.

    After numerous dinners here, it is our absolute go-to for a quiet delicious dinner. Love those fries.

    Had Thanksgiving dinner there. Amazing food. Best short rib I’ve ever had. The service was kind and friendly. Can’t wait to try their regular menu.
