This is such an awesome slice of pizza that I make my way all the way from BK to get it! The deep dish gives a perfect ratio of crispy crust while maintaining a soft & juicy center. The staff is friendly & the tunes are jamming. If you are looking for a deliciously unique pizza experience, this where you need to go!

Too good to properly describe! This is currently my favorite pizza in NYC. But if I had to, I would say it's like gourmet Sicilian—thicker than regular, but not Sicilian thick and not nearly so dense. I've tried most of the flavors and they're all good, but if you really want a kick of garlic, go for the mushroom without the sauce. Please open one in Hells Kitchen or the UWS.

Stopped in today and I have to say, Detroit knows a thing or two about pizza. I highly encourage and pizza eater to stop by this establishment. Prices are reasonable, staff is great and the pizza is top notch. I had the Vodka pizza and a pepperoni. Both were incredible. Highly reccomend ????????

    Eat the World NYC review:
Since early September I have had an ongoing repeat client right around the corner from Lions & Tigers & Squares, bringing me to this subway station at least twice a month. I cannot stop coming to this pizza joint, I just can't. So I figured I should finally talk about it, even though we do not do a whole lot of pizza on these pages. First of all, they do not sell slices, they sell squares. There is a good chance you will hear them have to explain that to a walk-in customer while you wait. Sold in a gut-busting giant rectangle cut into four "squares," bring a friend and share or come very hungry. In all the times I have tried, I have never finished the whole thing in one sitting. The closest I got was avoiding the crust on the last two slices, but then you kind of miss the point.

That crust is crispy and a little burnt and part of what makes the pizza from Detroit. The origins of this were cooking in industrial trays that were meant for other uses and had nothing to do with pizza, creating this unique shape and thickness. While the bottom and sides get crispy, the middle is still chewy and soft. An always generous layer of toppings is laid on top, with a nice double puddle of rich sauce. Most patrons seem to take the meatless "Classic" which turns out to be very economical, but other pies available include pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and a vodka sauce slice just in case you needed everything a little heavier.

We were looking for something a different than the classic NYC-style pizza and happened to find this small gem.

First off, the vibe and atmosphere is great. Awesome music selection (mixture of 70s and 80s funk at the time). As you approach to order, you’re blasted with heat and the rich smell of various pizza ingredients. I found it quite refreshing.

I’ve never tried Detroit-style pizza, but this was no joke. You have various options to choose from. I ended up trying the pepperoni, which was fantastic. The crust was crisp and thick with just the right amount of grease. The toppings themselves were of great quality and consistent throughout the slices.

Overall, this is delicious, cheap, and fun to eat at the establishment itself. Great for a quick bite or gorge yourself. High recommended.
