Back in my old Wall Street days, the Paris Cafe was a 125 year old dive bar which was on the corner of the same block that the old historic Fulton Fish Market stood on. They had inexpensive drinks & the freshest clams & oysters you could find in NYC! Boy have times changed, the old Fulton Fish Market has moved to the Bronx, and the Paris Cafe is now a 145 year old upscale establishment. I was craving clams on the half that day, but alas, no more. The beautiful bar backdrop is I believe, original, but the place is by far more upscale than is was back in the day! I did get clams, but in a lemon cream sauce that was very delicious...everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals!
Amazing food, great location, wonderful friendly staff. Great place for a dinner for two or a group of friends. Located just outside of Pier 17 and the original site of the Fulton Fish Market. My wife had the Salmon and I had the NY Strip Steak, which we both enjoyed.
Located in the historic seaport district of Manhattan; and a block from the iconic Brooklyn bridge, the Paris opened in 1873 as a hotel with a bar downstairs. Today it's a bar/restaurant. The interior has seen renovations with the passage of time; the most recent was after hurricane Sandy, but the interior has an inviting charm. Both the drink and food are top notch.
Friendly service and satisfying seafood. The seafood stew was one of the best I've had in awhile. Considering its location and the atmosphere, it was surprising to see that there wasn't a wait. They messed up our dessert order 3 times though. Solid 4/5 stars
Great location, awesome food, amazing service! We needed a spot for our group of 50+ runners in for the NYC Marathon; management was very responsive and accessible via email and phone. The evening went off without a hitch and it's been a few days and still receiving rave reviews about the food and service. We've found our yearly spot, thank you The Paris Cafe!
