Bird Dog

We did the 3 course price fixe and every single dish was amazing. Highly recommend the brussels and the Nashville chicken as those were probably our favorite dishes. The ravioli was much sweeter than expected, so watch out if you're planning to order that. The wait staff was super nice and gave us some wine for free after another table had leftover (it's byob). We also really like the decor as the walls are covered with pictures of local dogs dressed as royalty. Make sure you sit inside if you're planning to go. Overall, highly recommend and definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city.

I went to Bird Dog during their pasta happy hour, which was good. They do “half-priced” pasta and BYOB, but they usually have a prefix, so I don’t know how they do half off a regular menu. Besides that quirk, it was very good.

The atmosphere: is very small. Only around 5-6 tables fit inside, and the walls are covered in portraits of dogs.

The staff: was friendly but rushed, and we did have to wait a while to be seated, even with a reservation.

The food: was delicious. I had the pork Ragù, which was tremendous. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food.

Cleanliness: the restaurant was clean and so was the dining wear.

OMFG. We got the chefs tasting menu and everything was INCREDIBLE. There was not a single thing we didn’t like, and there was a great variety. Our server George was so funny and friendly, the timing was perfect and the dining room was adorable.

Great take on Southern style cooking - extremely cozy atmosphere, attentive servers, and a friendly vibe. You will hear other peoples conversations. BYOB for now!!

Food was great, and take creative takes on american southern cooking - grits, hush puppies, nashville hot chicken etc.
We both had the chefs menu. Pastas were a highlight! Personally wasn’t the biggest fan, but I could see how others would really love it! Expect to bring home left overs.

Had such a great dinner at Bird Dog. The small, cozy atmosphere is pretty unique for NYC. The staff are like a family and made the experience truly unique. The food was delicious and well priced. There are three menu options (we went with the 3-course tasting) and had more than enough food. BYOB is a nice perk on top. Will definitely be back!
