If there are none available, go early and you might have a chance at the bar. It pops off on Wednesday nights and can be a blast late night. One of the best Espresso Martinis I’ve had to date. “Slate New York is a fashionable adult playroom with food and beverages. They have a cloakroom and additional areas to accommodate special engagements as well as live entertainment. We were at this facility for a private event. Nevertheless, all staff were cordial and friendly. The atmosphere was just stunning with all types of fun and games in the downstairs area. She also was very expressive of the different flavors, scents, tastes associated with each item. Our hostess even shared with us which were her favorites when suggesting things for us to try. Our favorite cocktails were the bartender's creations or personal experiments. While you may have your favorite drink always allow a bartender to exhibit their creativity at least once and have them make you a drink of their choosing based off of your preferences. This place is awesome and I can't wait to go back.”

Also, it was very difficult to find info on fees on their website. I wrote to confirm and they were opaque about it and didn’t fully answer. There is a $40 min order amount, plus a $20 donation, which we didn’t find out until we arrived (despite writing two emails). We are always happy to support artists, music, and cultural institutions, but they should just be transparent about their prices and respond when people ask!”

“The only advantage The Plaza boasts, is offering free post cards to write to loved ones and post them for you. Other than that detail, The Lowell was superior in every way: The atmosphere was cozy but quiet, The servers come by to refill your pot but don't interrupt unnecessarily, The kitchen produced better quality of finger sandwiches and desserts, Lastly, they provided individual sugar bowls for each guest, instead of a communal bowl with sugar cubes wrapped in plastic. Make sure to respect their dress code, if you come in jeans or flip-flops, you can kiss your reservation goodbye. The Plaza's high tea is a tourist trap, unless you're specifically looking for "The Eloise" experience for your child(ren), The Lowell is the best place in NYC for high tea.”

“I have been going to Club Macanudo since 2017. As a cigar smoker in NYC, the choices of welcoming places are as many as finding a dweller in a trailer park with a full set of teeth. The service and food choices, not to mention the scotch and wine choices, are more than I could ask for. The ventilation is fantastic. It's why I became a member last December. After two months, I have no regrets. Whether you walk in, like I did, or became a convert, like I have, I don't think you'll regret it. FYI if you are not a member there is a $20 cigar and a $20 food and drink minimum.”

“I want to give 3.5 stars but will give 4 because 3 would be short changing them. I DID NOT like the unisex bathroom. The stalls are also very difficult to get in and out of. My drinks were expensive and watered down a bit. The snack food I had was good. I enjoyed the venue and the acoustics were great. I came to see a wonderful and talented singer, that was the most important part..and at ringside for a decent price! Buying tickets online was a breeze but could not get the venue on the phone. The run time was an hour, I wish the singer had more time!”

“Good rooftop bar with its chilled and colorful atmosphere. Have been here couple of times and always had a great experience. They have summer movie nights which are absolutely fun (you have to reserve tickets online as they get filled up pretty fast). I love how casual yet trendy this place is. The servers are great and the drinks menu is quite interesting. I like the fact that it's not overly crowded like most other places are (even on a Friday night). I definitely recommend this spot.”
