Lotus Garden

Hidden gem in Utica. My mother and I were exhausted and starving after a long day of driving around with our dogs. Honestly, we sorta chose this place out of desperation and also because they had a sufficient patio for our large pack (3 dogs). Maybe it was the low expectations combined with extreme need, but both food and service blew us away. We ordered two sushi rolls (one was a spicy tuna with crunchy stuff and I think hers was a regular tuna) to start. It was fresh, made with care and really just as good as any I've had elsewhere.

Then she had some type of shrimp lo mein and I had the beef bugogi. Both dishes were just terrific. Both proprietors were serving us and hanging out and they were very kind and personable. Really glad I came here. It's funky, to be sure, which matches the town (no offense). However, food and service would hold up anywhere.

I absolutely loved the food, however the service was kind of lacking. The waitress wasn't very attentive, we waited probably 45+ minutes for our food to come out to us. Which would be understandable if they were busy, but we were three of seven people in the whole restaurant. It should not have taken that long for our food.

Stopped in for an early lunch. Had a beautiful play of Pad Thai, very tasty! Waitress was very nice. Building is run down.

I went here years ago and have loved it ever since, now we go at least once a year for our anniversary. Amazing food and service.

Great quality food. Good sized menu. They have Japanese, Thai, and some other traditional Asian dishes mixed in. I recommend the Kamikaze sushi roll.
