Stopped by for dinner for the family and the diner wasn't crowded, but was very neat and clean. The staff was very courteous and polite while I waited for my order. I enjoyed my visit there and will be stopping by again when I'm passing through.
My wife mentioned she wanted to go to Peter Luger Steakhouse. Given our schedule it wouldn't have worked. So I decided to look for a steak place that was closer to home.
All the reviews stated that Char Steakhouse was one of the top in the area. And I have to agree with all the accolades. We deciced to head there for Valentine's Day. The menu looked great online. But I was scared we would be bullied into some Valentine's Day menu. However that wasn't the case.
We were able to pick a tasty 40oz Porterhouse steak that we shared with each other. It was cooked perfectly. It didn't even need the steak sause I asked for.
But before we had our steak, we had some wonderful appetizers that set the mood for what was going to come.
In our area there are a few steak house and by far I feel this has been best experience. It's close by and the prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly as well. We will definitely be back and recommend it to friends and family!
Food was very very good with a very diverse Menu to choose from. Are waiter Mike was great and the reteraunt has a very nice atmosphere and a big plus is they didn't try to rush us out the door like some places even though the place was packed. I would definitely recommend making a reservation and although we didn't have one we enjoyed are self's at the full bar and were seated in about an hour. There were a lot of birthdays there tonight and one had a party of about 18 so I would say it's a nice choice for a family get together or just a good choice for a place to enjoy a nice dinner with family or friends.
The wait staff was very friendly and professional. Low lighting atmosphere and wood everywhere as is typical in a steakhouse. The lobster and the braised ribs were amazing the crab cake appetizers as well. It's trying for very upscale but it feels more like casual-upscale. There is a small bar area that is very very cozy and fills up rather quickly. The fireplace lends to the Cozy warm feel in the dining area.
We ordered steak and a grilled salmon dish. The chef was able to make the salmon dish gluten free as my boyfriend has Celiac disease. It was a very romantic. Our server was nice, although a bit on the fake side with her personality. The wait time was around 20-30 minutes when there were only 2 other tables being serviced while we were there.
Had a excellent steak dinner here with the husband. The appetizer portions were super small and arrived to the table cold which was disappointing. The restaurant was decorated nicely, staff could be more attentive but overall was decent and will return.
