“Excellent food and service. Fish and chips included 2 large pieces of fish and a tarragon sauce for dipping, besides malt vinegar. Service was perfect, and it was extremely busy and loud, but that didn't disrupt my server from checking up, bringing ice with a 2nd glass of wine without being asked again, and following up promptly with napkins when asked.”

“A nice, local sandwich shop. It is within walking distance to another sandwich shop, but the products between the two are so different that I wouldn't be worried about much overlap. The products in this paninoteca are distinctly Italian in focus. I was expecting only paninis, but they sell sandwiches in general, and dessert. The sandwiches are quite large and so the price is not that ridiculous. It's also a relatively new addition to the neighborhood. The location is conveniently by the SIM bus and SIR line, for those who can't be bothered to drive because of the parking issues sometimes by Amboy. It's largely a takeout operation, with only a small table for outdoor seating, and a standing area if you want to rest your elbows. The inner decor is very monochrome and clean, with marble checker floors, white walls, and black ceilings. Blue lights break up the monotony, along with silvery chandeliers, giving a very crisp feel. There are foods on display next to the cashier, and you can see the sandwiches being made in the kitchen and behind the counter. The menu is quite simple, but diverse enough. There are cold and hot sandwiches, salads, sides, and drinks. Sides are not like typical fries and include arancini. I got the Anthony's Hot Sandwich, which has the porchetta and a stock for dipping. I ordered upfront instead of online, so I had to wait a bit for the bread to toast and all, but it wasn't that bad a wait. Service is nice and quick and the staff are friendly, open to talk. The sandwich was definitely not dry, absolutely dripping with excess stock and juice from the peppers and meat, which I think was soaked after being cooked. The pickled vegetables were the strongest flavor in the bite, with the provolone, garlic bread, and porchetta being more muted and just melting into one savory flavor. The stock provided for dipping is extremely rich and feels very luscious in the mouth. I was absolutely stuffed after eating that. Overall it was a good choice for lunch.”

Also have tablets you can utilize to not just view pictures of the food they offer but order and pay from if you do not wish to talk to anyone. Super convenient! They have seating indoors. Very clean and open atmosphere. Located on the ground level, right next to Panera. They have a bench right outside their store as well!”

“Great food but the prices don’t live up to the quality. I tried the empanadas and they were terrific although the tacos weren’t as good. The beef taco was okay and completely fell apart. I tried the pulled pork taco after and it was much better. We got them on a sale price of 2.99 each but they are usually 5 dollars and I can’t even imagine spending that much for a taco that is “okay”. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here but I don’t think I would come back.”

“We are MASSIVE IJ fans, and I planned my visit allllll the way to Staten Island and Ambrosino's, in particular. Worth the drive? Doesn't EVEN begin to define this experience. I walked in to a busy, but efficient pizza place, and browsed the slices. However, the slices were just for instant gratification. The real goal was to get a HCP pie in honor of the man for whom it's named, Brian 'Q' Quinn. Imagine my internal hysteria when my order was taken by none other than Mike--the featured voice on the IJ episode! I ordered my slice and my pie and texted my dad. Dad asked me to ask Mike if he still had the turquoise ring. Which, he did. By this time, there was no longer a lunch line (I'd timed it well.) Mike was so forthcoming, and so gracious. He said they get IJ visitors from everywhere! But, instead of responding to my question as if he were tired of being asked, he was warm and appreciative of my business. Not necessary, but always helpful! So, I drove back to Vermont with the most mouth-watering aroma of HCP pizza in my back seat. We ate it--reheated--day old and two days old. And we moaned in ecstasy. This pizza, this service, this sentimental journey was the highlight of my infrequent escapes from Vermont. And, on the second night of our pizza paradise, the aforementioned episode of IJ, aired! I squealed and squealed! Ambrosino's and Mike are worth a return trip, far above any other appeal NYC holds for me. Thank you, Mike. You and your pizza are unrivaled!”

“A friend recommended here for a birthday celebration and it was great. It was clean, roomy and the food was all delicious. I failed to take photos of the other dishes, this is the chicken Santina. The staff was very attentive, always around to take the dirty dishes/glasses away, refilled drinks when they saw our cups were empty. Parking is rough in the area but they have valet. It’s worth a try and we’ll be back for other get togethers.”

“This place is not bad for what it is. My wife and I ordered (1B) Spicy chicken sandwich + wings and a drink combo and (2A) Fried pork sandwich + Fries and a drink. The packaging is so cute! The food wasn’t bad. We only waited 8-10 min for our food. The chicken sandwich is a bit on the dry side and not a lot of meat, other than that 1B was fairly decent. As for 2A the pork was thin but they gave two pieces of pork in the sandwich I prefer the Fried Pork over the chicken sandwich. The fruit drinks that we ordered for the combo was pretty good. (Peach and Passionfruit) For a soft opening this place is not bad. I would definitely come back when this place officially grand open.”
