“Normally, I'm MORE than wary when deciding on BBQ. Long Island has its fair share of weak places, but Old Fields/Setauket was REALLY good. Cornbread is UNMATCHED, brisket was BETTER than Grandma's (sorry Nana), the creamed spinach was solid, and the Mac & Cheese was rockin'. I thought the collard greens were a little too spicy; didn't think it was necessary to heat them up, but the underlying vegetables were good. Service was excellent... we had a number of employees come over and check on us, including the owner. I'm actually psyched to go back. MAKE SURE you get the brisket! If you don't, that's on you...”

“Was in over the weekend with my family. Food was good, though it took a bit longer than usual to come out, probably because the place was packed but well worth the wait. The shrimp and lobster was awesome, wish they had it on the menu all the time. The staff here is great, always very friendly and accommodating. We had Matt this time and he made sure we were good during our entire stay, checking in on us and making sure our drinks were filled. The waitress who brought out our appetizer did the same as well. Nice to see more than one employee caring.”

I never even liked mac salad til I tried it here now I love it, but only from here. Also fantastic deserts. The flan when they have it and the carrot cake are really really good. Only thing they could do better is the pickles. Little bit too briny for my taste, I much prefer sweetness over saltiness in a pickle but it's honestly the only thing i would change.”

“We thought the food and wine were excellent. Our waitress was very nice and helpful but had a difficult time with our large party of 10. I believe they were a bit understaffed. I dont think Madiran kitchen is equipped to handle large parties. The food came out sporadically. There was about a 20-30 min span when the first person received their food and the last. One person in our party never received her food and she decided not to eat. The waitress gave her a complimentary glass of wine. All in all we did have a great time. Madiran has a wonderful ambience but may be better suited for parties of 4 or less if you are ordering dinner. The cheese and meat platters are incredible as well and in many cases that may be enough food.”

“Wow so incredibly FRESH!!! I built my own bango bowl with acai as the base and then honey and oats as my granola. You can choose 3 toppings, there are a crazy amount of options, all look awesome but I ended up choosing strawberry, mango and pineapple. Beware that mango is considered premium and costs $1.00 extra! The last step of building your own bowl is to add a premium topping, this is optional and also costs $1.00 per topping but you only get one scoop. You can also add coconut shavings and this is free, I did not get this though because I'm really not a coconut fan. Everything is super clean and new and pleasing within the interior. By the time I finished the regular bowl I was pretty full. Taken as a whole I will definitely be back for a healthy post work out meal.”
