“Very well decorated for Christmas Waiters are very attentive Food is excellent. The lobster pot is worth the $22 "starter" price. There is probably 1/2 pound of lobster claw and leg Be careful of the restrictions. We were told that there is a $20 sharing charge even though we ordered 2 appetizers and 1 entree”

“The falafel sandwich was so delicious! The wine selection: outstanding. The service: loved our waiter, super patient and kind. Timing for service was spot on. The ambiance was great! Cozy, perfect volume for conversation and the lighting was relaxing and enjoyable. The menu had so many great choices! I loved the meatballs! Will definitely be coming back!”

Sweet Mama's

Address: 121 Main St, Stony Brook, NY 11790, USA

Restaurant

“Sweet Mama's is one of my favorite diners in the area! Pictured is the California Avocado Toast with poached eggs. Prices are reasonable for the portions, and they sometimes have offers for even better deals! The food also tastes great, and is well made. They do deliver via Uber Eats as well, which is great for when I want breakfast for dinner and don't want to get out of my pajamas. Small nitpick: I ordered delivery once and they didn't deliver my coffee, but I got a refund so it's fine- it happens”

Fratelli's Italian Eatery

Address: 77 Main St, Stony Brook, NY 11790, USA

Meal delivery Restaurant

“Fratelli's is a deli that also happens to have a brick-oven pizzeria. Although they do not specialize in pizza, do not let that discourage you. The Sicilian slice of pizza I got was delicious. The crust they use is not bland, it actually tastes very good. The cheese and sauce were pretty great too. On the other hand, the regular slice lacked the integrity of the Sicilian slice. It was VERY oily, to the point that some of the oil soaked through the crust. I used napkins to soak up the excess oil. As a result, the end of the slice did not hold up as it should, it was floppy. The crust of the regular pizza was also a bit thin for my liking, which is a shame because this pizzeria seems to use high-quality dough. The garlic knots were DELICIOUS. They were flavorful throughout, and had an amazing texture. It was $7.05 (with tax) for a regular slice, Sicilian slice, and 2 garlic knots, so this pizzeria is a bit on the pricey side. The actual restaurant is nice, but there were some flies around the food, especially near the garlic knots, which was concerning. Overall, if you are near Stony Brook, Fratelli's is certainly worth trying. It is a good pizzeria, despite a few flaws.”

Mirabelle Tavern

Address: 150 Main St, Stony Brook, NY 11790, USA

Restaurant

“Wonderful ambiance with acceptable food. We both started off with a delicious lobster bisque - creamy, flavorful and warm, perfect for a cold winter night. Next up were a red snapper (excellent!) with a middling squid ink risotto, and haddock somewhat awkwardly served atop a decent orzo caponata. Desserts were okay, if a bit pricey. Overall, the par-for-the-course food was balanced by absolutely top-notch, cozy interiors, and kind, attentive staff.”

Restaurant Mirabelle

Address: 150 Main St, Stony Brook, NY 11790, USA

Restaurant

“Small octopus plate was good, salty and sweet tones to it. It was the perfect size to my charcuterie board appetizer! Their farm to table menu was especially delicious, I would recommend opting for the three course. Their lava cake was a great size and not too overpowering. Service was great, and a very homey atmosphere!”
