The Parish Restaurant

Nice, casual but not too casual! We planned our 1st visit to the Denizen Theatre and selected the oh so convenient The Parrish as our pre theater dinner spot. It was a perfect choice. We began our experience at the bar so we could watch the sunset and order a drink before choosing dinner. Well, don't you know, they serve Absinthe! The theatrics surrounding the preparation and serving of it was nearly worth the cost but my already licorice loving companion was elated with the process and the result. I, on the other hand enjoyed an IPA Our dinner selections were an appetizer of Shrimp and Grits which was delicious and plenty. A raw Kale Salad with apple and goat cheese with grilled chicken was fresh and tasty. The side of fried Okra was very good but could be crispier. An enjoyable and tasty meal!

I finally ate alligator and it was wonderful. If a nice menu, everything was very tasty. The jambalaya was not quite my childhood jambalaya, but how could it be?

It's a beautiful little spot with great views of the Schwangunks if you sit in the right place, the bar is lovely, it's very cozy. Very toned-down environment. This wait staff was fine, the pricing was slightly steep, but the food was perfectly executed.

I'm a level 7 cutie reviewing these joins like its my job. This place impressed me with powerful cajun flavors and impressive table service.

Great grass fed burgers, steaks and specialty cocktails. They also have a big dog friendly patio with beautiful views.
