Roaring Brook Ranch & Tennis Resort

Stayed here for a weekend getaway and wasn't disappointed at all. Honestly we choose it bc it was affordable compared to other hotels in the area for a summer weekend. It's conveniently located (less than 2 miles from downtown), on a beautiful property. The room was nothing fancy- no WiFi, a small tv, 2 double beds, and it could have used some updates. However, it was extremely clean, the staff was so friendly, and the grounds were immaculate! And since all we did was slee there, we didn't mind the lack of modern amenities at all. Pros: 2 pools (1 indoor and 1 outdoor), 2 fountains, a fire pit that we got all to ourselves the first night, and the best part- a stabile with 6 very sweet horses. We decided to do the horseback riding on our last morning- and I'm so glad we did! Turned out to be our favorite part of the whole trip! The horses were so well behaved (I hadn't ridden a horse in 25 years and had no trouble) the trails were amazing, and the guides were very personable! The ride last over an hour. This spot truly had the perfect charm you'd expect for a weekend getaway. We will definitely stay here again!

RBR is a part of my family tradition. It's a place to get away from the noise and enjoy nature. I love waking up and hving my coffee the going on a nature trail via horseback. The rooms are clean and the staff amazingly helpful. Family owned and operated. The 2 gentleman that run the stables are the best. True gentlemen and very experienced.

Rooms are outdated yes but are not dirty or covered in mold.. renovations have started and does not affect your stay. Horses are beautiful and trail rides were awsome as well.. JP the GM is amazing. He is very involved with everything there. The housekeeping and maintenance staff is great and super friendly and helpful.. could not have asked for a better time.. And xant wait to come back and see the progress..

After reading many reviews and being there for a great weekend in 2016, my wife and I will be there in September again. Possibly the best time we had together in years. The pool was refreshing and clean. We had a great dinner in the bar and met one of the men who actually worked the dude ranch in the 60s and 70s .very nice gentleman. We loved it.
