Captain Nance's Seafood

Seafood is fresh and great, sides could be better. Staff friendly. Been coming here for 35 years. If you like Calabash style seafood this is the best. Prices are not bad for what you get. Decor has been updated. Added outdoor deck and dining area. Casual attire.

I've been wanting to get back to this place for a long time! Food is delicious! Service is always very good! And prices & quantity for their lunch specials are fantastic! We are on the deck outside, and the view of the waterway is delightful!

I have been to this restaurant twice with the intention of going somewhere else but both times we ended up here and were glad we did. I don't ask for much out of a seafood place. I want good fried seafood and I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the fancy brickwork or decoration in front of the restaurant. Or because your restaurant is in Calabash. Captain Nance has come through for us on multiple occasions. There are not many frills. The serving staff will not butter you up or try to talk you into some kind of fancy special you've never heard of. It's a simple dining area with fluorescent lights and ceiling fans. And that's just how I like it. If you like great seafood, perfect hushpuppies, a great view in a quaint place, air conditioning, bathrooms, sweet tea, and all at a decent price, this is restaurant is just fine.

-Restaurant is kept clean and busboys definitely pay attention to detail

*Only reason I give four stars is because the side salad my mom ordered was obviously not fresh and looked about a week old.
-The lettuce was browning and had dried out.
(Our server noticed it after we pointed it out and immediately brought us a fresh one.)

-All in all a very relaxing waterfront restaurant. Maybe the back of the house management should be more pertinent regarding FIFO and making sure prepped products are fresh.
