great location in the south slope area. very walkable with many other places close by. it’s a big bustling room. the staff are pretty good although i wouldn’t put them in the upbeat category. the food is overall pretty good except the ribs - stay away from those. you think they would get that one right since they’re a BBQ place but they are dry and tough and a total letdown. i’ve tried a few times with the same result. it’s not a great value for your dollar which inhibits return visits. they have a full bar, are kid friendly and are fairly clean. good place if you’re visiting or need a fun place to take company.

From the first bite, you can tell this is authentic barbeque. The hash brown casserole side was really good. The bacon was fantastic too. Cool building and location. Would love to see it post-COVID.

Chicken sandwich is amazing, hush puppies are to die for, but the pork was bland and stringy.

The only complaint I have is that Buxton Hall is 635 miles away now. The fiance and I came here to check it out at the recommendation of our host at the Grafton Lodge in Lake Lure, and we were not disappointed. The portions were as perfect as the flavors. I got the "whole hog pulled pork plate" with hush puppies and slaw and she got the "whole hog pulled pork sandwich" with baked beans. We got a selections of sauces as well and not a one of those disappointed either. The one we liked the best had a garlic aioli flavor to it. Delicious! If anyone at Buxton Hall reads this and can ship us some sauce to us in Tampa, Fl We'd love you for it lol.

I like to think I know BBQ pretty well. Do yourselves a favor and check them out while your in the area. If you're disappoint with them remember, it's OK to be wrong.

Buxton Hall- We're looking forward to dining with you again!
