Decided to try the Alaskan, which is a white pizza with smoked salmon. It has capers, which make sense, but all I could think is it'd be better with that everything bagel seasoning from Trader Joe's, or even just caraway. It's a bit under flavored, and better after adding red pepper flakes. It was just a good example of being decent, but not great.

My husband and I had lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We ordered Caesar salad and Chicken Florentine pizza. The romaine was crisp and fresh and the dressing was very good. The wood oven fired pizza was delicious with a nice chew and flavor to the crust. Service was fast and friendly. Fresh squeezed lemonade refreshing and tasty, not too sweet. Will definitely return when we are in the area.

I'm not from new York and I'm not Italian, but I sure as hell love a good woodfired pizza, and with the location and me being an artist, I find myself there quite often. Most pizzas are gonna round out between $18 and $22, and these are generally pies that if you show up hungry, you can finish it alone. For that, the price range sits a little high, but in return, you're right next to the greatest expanse of open studios in the River Arts District, and the amazing food they serve will be something your remember. I find myself saving up just to go here.

I grew up on Long Island, not too far from NYC. I moved to the west coast in 1980 with no regrets except one: try though I might, I could not find a pizza that remotely measured up to the amazing pizza I recalled from childhood. Lots of places claim "New York style pizza", but trust me...they're not even close.
Flash forward 35 years to a random visit to the Fresh Wood Fired Pizza West in NC. OMG! It's the real thing! A bubbly crust that should be in The Pizza Hall of Fame, a fresh melt of real mozzarella cheeses, just the right amount of olive oil, and just a bit of char. Perfection!

Best pizza I have had so far since moving here a year ago. Salad was fresh and service was on point. Highly recommended!
