Really great place. Food was so good! Staff was even better. I have an an almond allergy and the wait staff checked with the kitchen to ensure what I wanted to order was safe for me. Really appreciate their time and effort in doing that. I ordered a sampling of the menu, as it was our first time here. The tot burger was my favorite of the things ordered, but I also couldn't stop eating the seasoned fries my fiance ordered. We love checking out vegan options, and we both agreed we would come here again when in the area.
This is it. This is the best vegan burger availible.
I have had more vegan burgers than most all throughout the US, mostly in California where I had many many options. They all pale in comparison to The Trashy Vegan's. The perfectly cooked patty, a tasteful ammount of condements, just the right ammount of toppings. It does not get better than this.
The staff was welcoming, kind, and accommodating, though we got our food to go so our interaction was brief.
I also got and order of their loaded fries (with ranch) and it was stellar. The fried soy curls add a nice "chicken" flavor on top of the already great cheese, fries, onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños.
This was all so good I had to come back the very next day (we were visiting from out of town so we had to get it while we were around!)
Now for the "bad". I only say bad because the burger was life changing, so anything by comparison was already working overtime to impress me. The Philly cheese steak was by all accounts a good sandwich, though I'd compare it more to a roast beef than a Philly.
However, every time I go back I will for sure be getting a burger, as it set the golden standard for vegan food in the area; I would argue it sets the standard for the nation.
The food is of the BEST Our family has ever had, the portions are huge, the staff is beautiful inside and out! Hippie vegan vibes!
The chicken sandwich which made to the Trapking and that was excellent! For dessert I got the cheese cake and banana pudding which was alright. Not to much on the menu itself but they have daily specials which keeps it interesting
With an all accepting, “come as you are” type vibe, The Trashy Vegan never settles for anything less than great when it comes to quality and presentation. With pre-existing roots already settled in the heart of Asheville, most of us have been able to find them mobile in their food truck. Now they have found their home. 5 stars all the way around for this little gem!
