Cow Cafe

I had a hankering for some ice cream so went to downtown New Bern to visit the Cow Cafe on Middle Street. A small homey shop with a hand written main menu serving handmade ice creams made on site. They also serve some fine meal items if you are there for a full dining experience. I ordered a Chocolate Mint Sundae with 2 scoops and the whipped cream and cherry. I was surprised by the large scoops of ice cream with a little chocolate fudge topping, plus the generous whipped cream, a little chocolate syrup lightly drizzled on top, and the cherry, of course. Had to dig in quickly so it wouldn't melt over the sides of the dish. Very creamy, cool, and tasty.

Charming gem of New Bern! The service is more than impeccable and highly accommodating, while the food was delicious. I ordered there Cowibbean plate and it was fresh to order and amazing. family friendly and open to everyone. Ice cream is the best in town!

We found this place on Google maps, and gave it a try. Best ice cream we are on our trip hands down. It's a nice place to sit down, and have some ice cream. The workers were wonderful, and you can tell by their conversations with other staff members that they love working for Cow Cafe, and look out for each other. Plus, the cow puns are a nice touch.

Such fun coming in to the store and the food is good too! I did want to mention that your menu online is out of date - items no longer served in the store, prices have increased slightly, and "Contact Us" doesn't work. Atmosphere is wonderful and service is friendly.
