First time there! Great food and vibe. Definitely will be back...with friends..My Parm sandwich and side salad were delicious. ????
Came during a pounding summer thunderstorm and even then the patio out back is very inviting and we stayed dry. Only difficulty is that there is no way to get from the main dining room in the front to the patio in back and many customers try to go through the kitchen. Maybe saloon type swinging doors would prove helpful to stop people? Otherwise the sandwiches are really tasty, but they don't come with any sides so make sure you either order the sub or a round with a salad (great salads) or chips, fries or very nice sweet potato tots. Nice beer on tap mostly local and many other beverage choices. Order up front, take your number to your table and display it, pick up your napkins and silverware from the nearby stations. Parking is mostly in the back with a small lot up front.
Great neighborhood sandwich shop. They need to work on their sesame rolls, though. They're too hard to make a good sandwich. Bagel-like consistency that makes the filling squish out.
No worries though: get any sandwich on their round buns, which are great, or an awesome salad, any of their starters, etc. I have a feeling they'll fix their sub bread problem soon enough.
Perfect place. Fun atmosphere, beautiful decor, excellent service, awesome food at an affordable price. One of my favorite places in the area and the specials they have are always excellent and unique. The cocktails are fun and refreshing every time and they always have a frozen slushy version. They also have an awesome deal where you can get beer, a sandwich and fries for $13. They have a great brunch menu too! I highly recommend it.
This place is great for low-key but delicious meals. It has the quality of the well-known downtown Durham lunch/brunch spots, but has so much more space available. The fresh ingredients and inventive offerings from the kitchen have never disappointed!
