“Tried Andy’s for the first time and loved it, my wife was craving for a good butter pecan shake so I got one for her and really loved the perfectly balanced taste of it absolutely delightful. It was not busy, service was quick and the place is spotless, clean. If you have a sweet tooth like us give Andy’s a try, highly recommended.”

“Bistro 1605 is a result of Alexandria’s Hamilton Street Bistro moving into the former Cork and Grind location. While I never got to try the old restaurant, I was curious about the new. I stopped by a little before noon on a Friday to find the establishment very busy, a testament to Alexandria’s loyal following. As much as I wanted to like this place, however, it just didn’t strike me as anything special. Positives first: Alesha is a friendly and welcoming presence, and the staff here seem hard-working and personable. Though the menu is fairly limited, several items – a crostini and a spinach/hummus/red pepper/quinoa wrap – held appeal. I ultimately went with the day’s special, an Italian sandwich. It took a while to arrive, but given how busy – and new – the bistro was, I’m inclined to cut them some slack. While the sandwich featured a good amount of meat, it was oddly sweet due to the choice of pepper. Banana peppers and a dash of oregano would have been a welcome remedy. Like a few of the other sandwich offerings, the Italian clocked in at $12 with a bag of chips included. Some of the salads reached ambitiously into the teens. I may need to give Bistro 1605 another shot after they are fully up to speed at their new location, but initial impressions suggest a place that will serve you neither a bad lunch (and there is something to be said for that consistency alone) nor a particularly memorable one.”

“It’s still a new place but my first experience was great. Staff was nice and the burgers are great. Just be prepared to spend $18-$24 for a meal for a single person. All in all it was a good experience. Nice to have something a little different in High Point!”

“Me and my fiancé were in town for Kersey Valley and we are big foodies! We start driving thru town brunch time looking for a local business establishment and KC's caught my eye. It was clean and presentable from the outside. The perfect image to describe fresh, hot, home cooked food! So we stop at this delightful diner and we are warmly greeted by a man smiling at the register and his staff. As we walk up I notice he's the owner and he introduces his self as just that, Keith. He helped us order what we craved and talked with us as we were not strangers, but simply friends. Sanitation was off the charts! 99.5 to be exact! I already feel welcomed and comfortable, now that feeling is even better knowing that they not only take pride in what they do, but they love this place! Like a second home! Food was hands downs amazing! I had the mild buffalo wings and fries, he had a homemade burger all the way and onion rings. Fresh sweet tea! Please, if you're ever in this area, STOP AND ENJOY!!! Perfect customer service, delightful environment, amazing food! Thank you Keith! Will always stop when we're in town!”

“For a lot of folks, some of what I say will be unnecessary because the reputation of Ziggys.Space (A.K.A Ziggys’s 3.0 or just plain Ziggy’s) and it’s owner Jay Stephens has been so well known by music lovers in NC for decades. But for those who don’t know, the backstory is part of the appeal of seeing this place thrive. The original Ziggy’s and Ziggy’s 2.0 were both located in Winston Salem and both could be counted on for booking some of the hottest bands around during their days. That legacy now continues since this new Ziggys.Space opened April 1, 2022 in an outdoor courtyard location near downtown High Point as part of the Cohab Space campus for makers and artists. On its website, Cohab states that it “aims to spark change by serving as a hub for creativity, craftsmanship, and leadership.” It’s a really cool place and while you visit Ziggy’s for a show, you can also have a peek at some of the beautiful items for sale inside the actual gallery. The courtyard outdoors where you find the stage is surrounded on three sides with old, large, brick buildings which create the perfect private, insulated spot for gathering and loudly jamming! The forth side of the courtyard is bordered by a railroad track which is still in use. It’s pretty fun to see the trains whizz closely by every now and then. The courtyard has beautiful landscaping, a variety of seating options such as benches, swings and large beanbags. There are also fire pits that have been thoroughly enjoyed when temperatures still drop quickly at night this time of year. While there are typically quite a few seats available, most shows still allow for bringing in your own camp chair. Keep in mind though, if it’s at or near full capacity this may not always be the case. The other thing that is show dependent is exiting with re-entry. As far as what the future holds…In addition to this 1,500-capacity outdoor venue, owner Jay will soon open Space there; a discotheque and craft cocktail bar, that will seat 150 people. Rumors of a long term plan to acquire the adjacent building for a large indoor stage have been heard circulating too which will be super sweet! The surrounding area of town has quite a few active industrial businesses and also quite a few empty and dilapidated old buildings. You won’t find a whole lot else going on right in that immediate area, but Ziggy’s can hopefully breathe some new life into this struggling part of town with all they have planned for the future there. The venue has now been open about 6 weeks and the transformation I’m witnessing each week is very exciting and promising. Sure, there have been blunders and annoyances and some discrepancies, but I still remain totally optimistic about the future here and am understanding about the challenges of getting things smoothed out at a place like this- especially when every show is different in its crowd and their needs. The staff have been very welcoming and responsive, food trucks have been dependable and delicious, and other than the one sold out show thus far, waits have been reasonable for mostly everything. It’s a very cool, comfortable, and friendly place! Music sounds great and because I bought a membership back when they were available, I am looking forward to a summer spent in High Point! Who woulda thunk? Cheers, friends!”

“Damn Good Dogs lives up to it's name. Went with the Carolina Dog for a family member. She loved it and let me sample it. This is a really good dog. I wish I had asked where he sources his weiner from because this is not a run of the mill hot dog. We had three people people try it and we all agreed this was way above average. But so is the price.”

“I’m so glad I found this place on my way home. What an amazing sandwich. I stopped by for some lunch for the landscaping crew. I got food for 5 for $70 and that included the tip. Everyone was very friendly, food came out quickly. I got 7 sandwiches, 5 orders of Fried okra and hush puppies. It was plenty of food! I thought I would eat 2 sandwiches, I was mistaken. Hush puppies were delicious as well as the fried okra, but hard to go wrong there. That sandwich though… so good. I had asked for sauce, it is a new place, so I figured I’d give the sauce a try. I had completely forgot about the sauce after taking a bite of this massive sandwich. The pork was plenty juicy, and had just the right amount smoky flavor. After eating half of it I remembered the sauce and put some on to get the experience, the sauce was great, but this sandwich needed nothing. It is take out only, so don’t expect to sit down, but they will let you use the parking lot to eat in your car if need be. I am looking forward to trying more of the menu, especially the rib tips.”

“I remember my brother stopping by their food truck when they used to go by a brewery. He raved that it was really good, so decided to give it a try. Service started out a little different as someone sat us and brought us waters but never returned. We then noticed that there was one person tending to tables outside and inside. After a few minutes, she did come by our table. I went with the chicken grilled chicken sandwich. It came with a nice helping of coleslaw on it. Everything was fantastic, only thing different was that the chicken was cut up into pieces and put on the bun. They had a nice drink menu as well to compliment Andy of the choices of food.”
