Moondoggy's Classic Diner

This was one of my daddy's favorite places to go before he passed away! However, when I went recently, the food and service both have gone downhill. The staff isn't rude but they don't engage at all. This is a 50's style diner in the south. It's not the place for you if you aren't a people person.

Good Food, Friendly Staff. I had the Philly with sweet potato fries, it was great!

I probably would have rated them four ⭐ instead of three but this place used to be my favorite go to spot in Marion for burgers and fries. And I am probably holding the new management to a higher standard than most would.

The place still has the same good fifties vibe but without the down home friendly cheer that we have been used to. The food was ok but nothing special, I wish they had more seasoning to the burger and the white gravy on my wife's country style steak was very bland also. I suppose we were expected to season then at the table but again just a difference in what we expected.

Hopefully they bring back some signature burgers instead of just offering a hamburger and a cheese burger, and it would have been good to have the specials in the menu, we actually didn't see them until we left.

I was however very glad to see the sign about not disposing of cigarette butts in the urinal was still there. ????????
