I enjoyed this place a lot! We ordered many different items on the menu and they were very well prepared, the fish was very fresh, and the service was spectacular. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes sushi, and even if you don't they'll convert you!

I originally tried Baku during restaurant week here in Charlotte and was very pleasantly surprised. My friend and I had so much food and even tried the yummy cocktails. I enjoyed this place so much that I’ve been raving about it since to my partner who took me here for date night last night.

Basically I was slightly underwhelmed considering my first experience. The service was impeccable but unfortunately the food was a little disappointing. One of my favorite dishes is the crispy Brussels sprouts and the first order came out kinda burned instead of charred. Then I ordered the beef skewers and honestly the texture and flavor was very weird. During restaurant week I ordered the skirt steak and asparagus and that’s definitely a better choice. The calamari was amazing though this time it was a little more rubbery than previously and finally the chicken good but also not as crispy. Idk what was up with Baku last night but we were literally like the first people there around 5:30pm.

Rating 4 stars mostly because of my first experience with food and my second experience with the server. Will try again and hopefully the food is consistent.

Wonderful local Japanese cuisine with eclectic menu selections. Fine dining atmosphere. Low lighting. Elegant but inviting. Great for intimacy and special occasions. Would not recommend loud, large groups. Not that kind of place.

I almost never give 5 stars. This is an upscale Japanese restaurant serving creative sushi combinations as well as hot dishes mostly small plates for sharing. The food preparation is done with exceptional care and attention to detail. The flavor combinations were very nice and work well. Service was understated but attentive, and our server was helpful in making menu suggestions. Be sure to make a reservation.
