Most underrated restaurant in Charlotte. We've been coming here for years. When every other restaurant is packed you can walk right in here with no problem. This place should have way more customers than it does.

My husband & I love Jonathon's and would give it 5 stars for food and wait staff but had a bad experience yesterday. My husband ordered chicken livers which is one of his favorites and he always orders it with lots of gravy and onions. The livers were $7.25 which is very reasonable; however, when the check came, there was an additional $2.00 charge. The waitress said it was for the onions - that raw onions were free but the charge was because they were sauteed. The onions cost 27.5% of the original cost which I agree is ridiculous. This was at the owners direction. He also charges 60 cents for a small cup of ranch dressing to go with the fried squash - annoying. The dressing charge is noted on the menu. For a place to have such friendly staff, this sort of practice does not speak well of management. We will probably come back but he says when he wants chicken livers, he will go Gus's Sir Beef where they are equally as friendly but not so tacky.

We had a Church meeting there. Server were very nice and fast. They refill your coffee constantly which was so nice. Food was very good and affordable compare to IHop, Denny's. Only reason i gave 3 stars because the Cashier Lady was not very Nice and she judged me to quick while i was giving a tips. My Group we ate about $60 and i paid with credit card and i usually pay half cash/ half card tips. So i put about 5$ on Card, she reacted really bad but she didn't know i was going to put CASH also. I had about $5 cash. Total tips was $10. Reaction that she gave was terrible..Management needs to fix that ....

Excellent service and staff. Service is very good. I suggest they get a re-inspection, since they have a 90, which is the bottom of the A scale. One more mark to an 89 and they would get a B. Who runs a restaurant at a 90 and survives for long.

The food was delicious! We received excellent customer service! Great atmosphere! I love the duck pond outside! I ordered a club sandwich, and it was fantastic! My daughter had the fried chicken, and she said it was really good. You all are doing a great job there! Keep it up. Five stars and two thumbs way up! ????????
