Everything was so delicious, my teen and I kept saying repeatedly, "This should be illegal it's so good!". Everything was amazing, including the service by the waitstaff and the social distancing implementation.
Classy exterior, cozy interior. We highly recommend - well, everything! Every single tapa we tried (and we tried MANY) was amazing! The vegetable paella and the assorted meats were our main courses, also spectacular.
After my most recent takeaway order experience with Barcelona Wine Bar, I will likely not be returning, at least not for a take-away order.
The ordering process was simple, but there were no instructions provided about how to pick up the order when I arrived. After waiting ~ 10 minutes in the "curbside pickup" area, I finally called to let them know I was there. The order still was not ready despite it being past our designated pickup time - we ultimately got our order about 10 minutes late.
On our way to get the order, we received a text message stating that one of our ordered items (the gnocchi) was out, and asking if we wanted a replacement. Because I was driving, I did not reply until 8 minutes later when I arrived, but did ultimately ask for a replacement item. There was no acknowledgement of the text, and the replacement item was not provided. This was not addressed by anyone - it was like we never asked for it.
The food was also not the standard I was expecting with the price point. The paella was fine, but was supposed to come with an egg on top and did not. It seemed carelessly packaged. There were no instructions for what to do with the various sauces we received with each item - were they to be dipped? mixed in? drizzled on top? The truffle bikini was shoddily put together, several of them fell right apart. Again, small issues but not what I expected from one of the "nicer" restaurants in the area.
We've ordered takeaway food once before during COVID from Barcelona, and the experience was much better. My assumption is that, since they've started dine in again, curbside takeaway has become lower priority and the quality, care, and experience has suffered. Will spend my money elsewhere next time.
Delicious food, beautiful space, fabulous drinks. They had many gluten free options and were knowledgeable about cross-contamination. Would highly recommend and hope to go back soon!
Appetizers were good. Entrees were nothing special. Sangria wasn't homemade. The overall appearance was awesome but the food could've been better
Food was delicious. Ambiance and music was nice, AC could have been a little colder, but it's summer time, so I guess they don't want to kill the profits with the AC bill. Now, my only observation will be that the sauce on the Chicken pimiento was super salty! But once I transferred the chicken to a different plate with out the sauce then it was delicious and juicy! I will definitely come back, just keeping in mind that the waiting list is about 30-40 mins average.
