“Very conveniently located a block from the Federal office building on New Bern Avenue. Unassuming on the outside, simply decorated but cozy on the inside. Picadillo was fresh and well-seasoned. Grilled chicken was seared crisp on the outside and tender inside. Fried catfish had a light, crispy coating covering juicy fish. Plantains were perfectly done, with just the right amount of chewiness. Rice was served with fresh cooked, not canned, black beans. Best of all, service was outstanding: friendly and attentive without being pushy. Our server made us feel like we had sincerely made his day just by showing up.”

“I used to live across the street from this charming place. Now I only visit a few times a year, but I can't miss a lunch at Side Street. The food is so delicious and the staff is wonderful. Although it is casual, there are white cloth tables and flower vases. Interesting paintings cover the walls. I enjoy it just as much if I am alone or meeting someone. Either way, it is so congenial and pleasant. The food is just as good if you go to the takeout counter, but I highly recommend the relaxing experience of eating a meal there. I also recommend the Let's Horse Around sandwich and ANY of the desserts. there is also REAL ice tea. They just had their 40th anniversary!”

“4501 delta lake Circle K is the BEST!!!! Its 99 degrees in NC and the store was cold, and clean as ever. The 2 ladies working today july 18, 19 at 1pm are THE BOMB. So fun, soo nice. And checking out I got snacks for my daughter, gas and happened to be a few cents short- the owner (man) got a dollar out of his personal wallet and gave it to ME. Ill never forget this.... “If movie theaters had star ratings like hotels, this would be a 5 star. Comfortable, reclining seats. You can order food, go sit down with the buzzer they give you, and when it goes off you just walk to the doors and grab it. Food is pretty good, concessions are good (wish there were more candy choices tho), and I don't have to wait long in line. Sometimes the popcorn is a little old if you go at an odd hour, but they've always offered to remake it (and are good at pretending to not be annoyed by that). Watch out for the small fees for buying tickets online (I have the movie pass thing and it's definitely worth it (for me at least), but you can at least choose your seat.”

So we tried the sushi... Excellent, and the fried shrimp and oysters... very good. Totaled a bit over $30 for the two of us. A bit high for lunch but reasonable for dinner. Nice staff, I wish them good luck.”
