“Spa review: The massage was great, and that is the main thing and what brought this review up to 3 stars. The relaxation room was very nice (albeit the fog completely blocked the incredible view, but nothing to do about that). Gym was nice. My wife had been here before and really talked it up, so maybe my expectations were too high. But paying an extra $140/person for a day pass was absolutely not worth it. The pool area only had regular chairs, so you can't lay down. The included lunch that comes with the day pass was something you can get at a gas station. The soup had to be from a can. The avocado toast had no fresh avocado, which might be cool for a gas station, but not appropriate for a wellness spa. The locker room was uncluttered, but showers were a bit dingy and the one I used had a clogged drain, so water was building up in the shower pan. Staff were nice, which helped bring this review to the 3 stars as well. This is really a facility and food issue. I understand they will be doing updates in the near future, and hope that gets done sooner than later, otherwise I wouldn't see a reason to return.”

“Amazing experience. My daughter and I stayed here for a girls weekend (she's 4). She immediately found the board games in the lobby and grabbed her favorite to take to our room (Candy Lane). Our room overlooked downtown Blowing Rock. We loved the rocking chairs on the patio. Downtown restaurants are a short stairway away. The bathroom/shower was so nice. I also appreciated having key-card security on the elevator, as we were traveling without Dad this time. Felt very safe and comfortable our entire stay. Highly recommend!”

“Excellent BBQ and service. The place used to be called Woodlands but changed their name about 5 months ago. Never seen turkey breast look like a grilled pork chop before and it was amazing! BBQ pork delicious and with their sauce, Mmmmm Mmmmm! Ribs and brisket just as good. The price was reasonable and they do give a Military discount.”

“What a fabulous (and much needed!) addition to Blowing Rock! Located in the former Sunny Rock restaurant location, it's charming inside and stuffed with wonderful frozen entrees, desserts, all types of cheese and even fresh veggies. We brought home chicken salad, pimento cheese and some frozen soup and meals and the chicken salad is delicious! Thank you, Myers K&P, for offering us such a wonderful place to shop!”

“This place definitely know how to make grilled cheese sandwiches. We had the Brie Apple grilled cheese. It was delicious and a good sized sandwich ( I definitely couldn’t taken 1/2 of it home ) they are in the back of that shopping area with all the white buildings towards the end of the main drag. I loved their patio tables with bright yellow umbrellas- you sit by all the beautiful flowers. Not fancy dining but very delicious & stress free.”

“We enjoyed stopping here for lunch. The sandwiches were great and the vibe was too. We got our sandwiches to go and had a picnic nearby but I would have enjoyed sitting on the patio just as much. It was large and spacious. There was live music and best of all- the patio is pet friendly. Take note- Inside the store in the back left corner are coolers which have take and bake meals for families- and they looked great! I wish I had seen better advertising for them as I definitely would have tried those. (The coolers are marked Ladyfingers)”

“We stayed for New Years Eve in room 5. We really liked the room a lot and the gas logs. When we got back in later that evening the staff had left us complimentary champagne and poppers to celebrate the ball dropping. We thought that was very thoughtful and a very nice touch. We also enjoyed the food and bar. I really liked the tenderloin sandwich. Overall, we had a great experience at this beautifully renovated bed and breakfast. The staff are very professional and courteous. We will definitely be back when we are in town. Thank you guys so much.”

“So glad that we finally have a French restaurant in the area! The food is expertly sourced- both locally and internationally. The charcuterie board was delicious with house made baguettes. Our table had the bouillabaisse, filet, ratatouille and lamb sausage. Everything was great. Large selection of French wines. The service was attentive and loved the ambiance. This is a place we will frequent, especially for special occasions and to take guests.”

“We got a lemon cheesecake, an amandine, 2 macaroons, a meringue, and an eclair. Out of this assortment, the lemon cheesecake and the macaroons were the only desserts that tasted fresh. The eclair and amandine were extremely dry and seemed like they had been sitting in the case for a few days. The macaroons were excellent, and the delicious lemon cheesecake was topped with fresh figs, blueberries, and blackberries.”

“Came in for breakfast as village cafe was closed. Fast service and friendly wait staff. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato eggs Benedict. It was very well prepared. Along side the house made ham. (Pork tenderloin brined for a week). It was a great start to our trip. Definitely recommend.”

“My wife surprised me with a guided fly fishing trip with Chetola as part of my graduation present, and I could not have been happier. We had an absolutely amazing time and made some great memories. While I have fished my entire life, I am relatively new to fly fishing, and this trip was truly something special. Our guide Dustin Coffey was excellent and made the trip even better with his fun loving personality, and his incredible skill and knowledge of the sport. I felt confident in my abilities before the trip, but Dustin showed me a variety of techniques to improve my cast and furthered my knowledge of fly fishing in general. But the highlight of the trip for me was when my wife landed her first fish ever, a beautiful brown trout. Dustin was a fantastic teacher and guide, we would go back in a heart beat.”

“This place is a hidden gem! Everything was so simple but delicious it was awesome finding a chill place off the beaten path and we could enjoy our lunch in the fresh air! I ordered the Greek and my husband got the American. The Greek was super delicious with the feta and olive combo the flavors just meshed really well with a salty and meaty tang. The American was a classic grilled cheese just done super well. The bread was delicious and perfectly toasted and perfectly stood up to the warm gooey insides without falling apart. The accoutrements and flag decorations were the perfect addition it was so cute! We'll definitely come back next time we're in the area!”

“We went in without a reservation. I would recommend a reservation, that being said. We were welcomed and Zoey was more than helpful in cleaning the bar area for us. Amy the bartender was very knowledgeable and made us feel right at home. Gary and Kathy was as welcoming. The food was superb, pasta dish was amazing and the special for the night: scallops and crab meat served over creamed corn, the best and this is coming from someone who does not eat scallops. I highly recommend this restaurant.”

“Good sushi but they took the Poke bowls off the menu ????. Thai food is tasty but sauces are thin. Fried Gyoza is superb. Octopus salad is great. You will get a good meal here, sometimes a great meal.”

“Beautiful setting at the Chetola Lodge. I was able to make reservation on Google very easily. Great service, incredible selection of drinks and dishes. Our food was cooked and prepared perfectly. There is also a nice patio area with a fire overlooking a lake. Convenient to Blowing Rock and Boone. When we were there they had musicians playing in the lobby area, not sure how often they have this. It really made for a great atmosphere.”

“Nice small eating area. Pizza was very good. Split a House Pizza with my wife and it was tasty. Kids food was ok. The kids pizza was pretty lame as it was French bread with sauce and cheese. The kids pretzel was just the pizza dough shaped like a pretzel. Beer was cold and the service was great.”

“This place is a must while in town. The inside is very quaint and well decorated. Outdoor seating that is dog friendly. The staff was wonderful. Food was delicious, we ate the pretzel and burger with fries. We will definitely go back on our next trip.”
